I'd like to know if the OP has a 2014-2015 non-hybrid Q50 before pointing him at the TCM/control valve body, since the ITB only applies to those years. It's not a given that replacing the valve body is the correct procedure in every case for a P0720, however replacing the valve body is a lot simpler than cracking open the transmission to access the output speed sensor. Either replacement can be a challenge if the owner decides to do the repair work themselves.Read this thread for all you need to know on that code and what to do.
