It's official, the Infiniti Q50 will get a mercedes-benz designed 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine expected to make 210-240 horsepower.

At the moment there are very little details about the engine but as they get closer to making this engine available in the Q50 later this year, expect gas mileage numbers, torque & horsepower numbers & more official specifications to be released!

If they can engineer the turbo lag out of the engine, I will be impressed. The last turbo 4 cylinder I drove was a VW CC. I hated the performance as compared to the 3.5L V-6 in the Maxima I had at the time.

I wonder why they strictly just have the in the european market. I guess they swear by that over there or maybe the diesel is cheaper. I think it would be a nice addition if they released it in north america.

This motor will be a diesel. Won't be available in the North American market. A more interesting question would be what will the new G25 get.
I think you have this confused with the other 4 cylinder diesel engine for the Q50. Infiniti actually announced they will have 2, infiniti q50 four-cylinder engines. One being the 2.0L 4 cylinder gasoline engine this thread is about and a 2.1 liter four cylinder diesel engine for markets outside of North America.
