From what I have seen so far, my G37 sedan will be gone as soon as I can get my hands on this car.

Which version were you going to get? Is everyone only interested in the hybrid?
If the price is right, I will go with the sport AWD hybrid. Better gas mileage and more power make for a very attractive combination. If I don't like the price, I have no problem with the regular 3.7 liter engine. It is a great powerplant.

The hybrid model is quite attractive with it pumping out more power than your conventional petrol engine but it also holds the highest price point. Not sure if i can justify getting the hybrid version since its expecting to be in the high 60s range.

I definitely see way more improvements that I see updates.

I think the only thing on the Q50 that I'm not sold on 100% might be the interior design. It's very different than what I'm used to and I know it's hard to tell in the photos, but as it stands right now, there's something about the new interior, specifically the center tunnel console that I find odd.

I don't think you will find many who will agree with you simpsontide. The center console and trim colors look great to me. I know you aren't fond of them.
It's not that I'm not fond of it, it's more that it's not what I'm used to seeing in an Infiniti. It'll take some time to get used to it, but I'm getting there...

Trust me, I've been on other forums where they're crapping all over this car. :(

The interior is different but I am liking it more and more. The asymmetrical center console threw me for a loop at first. I do like the aluminum trim better than the wood trim.

That is because the other forum members are likely G37 owners who are but hurt that there is a new car. There aren't many cars that come out that people like right away. Everyone hates it at first and eventually everyone loves it...

When the G37 took over the G35 members on g35 boards burnt it to the ground.

Now everyone thinks the G37 is a sexy car.. It's just the way car nuts are.. Need to learn how to accept new designs and cherish older ones.

Yup.

I always subscribe to the idea that people are not historically, not very well receiving to change. It might take some time for people to get used to something new and different.

That is the thing about enthusiasts.. No matter what we think and say.. Changes will happen.. Cars will still sell.. Look at the new Honda Civic.. Everyone is saying it's terrible. Its ugly. Its boring. Consumer reports took it off the recommended list for the first time in like 10 years..

Guess what? It still sells like HOTCAKES. Sells way better than the Elantra even with all their trim levels, features, aggressive pricing, sexy styling. So we just need to learn to accept new designs.. Maybe no in the civics case because I really do think the new civic is ugly and I wouldn't buy one.. But this new Q50 design is NOT ugly. It's just a different kind of nice. And old owners need to accept this.. The best way to tell if a car is truly ugly is to ask someone who knows nothing about cars. Ask a normal person. Everyone I've shown the Q50 to says its a nice design. It's not exactly a 360 turn around from the G37. It still has resemblances.. It's just a bit more aggressive and the grill is saying a bigger statement. Everyone is doing this though.. Look at Acura with their beak and lexus with their giant grill. Big front ends is the new thing.

I was not a huge fan of the old G37 sedan design. I saw a few photos of the Q50 and I am intrigued. I own a 2007 IS350 and I am looking to upgrade but I really don't like the new IS350 design. I started looking and I found the Q50. I am interested in buying the hybrid Q50.

Whats there not to like about the new Lexus IS sedan? I think they did an amazing job designing it. But the Q50 wins in my books due to it's curvy lines which i really like.

G37 was still a nice looking sedan, definitely not the nicest looking sedan but better than the G35!
