I made an appointment to have my car get the necessary updates(will take it in Wednesday). The Service director who took the information and made the appointment, told me not to fill up the car before bringing it in - they will give me a fill-up before giving the car back to me. When I asked him how I got so lucky, he said that I had Infiniti's Quality Assurance, given to me because Infiniti wanted to make up for the problems that I had had. I haven't heard anything about this. Has anyone else gotten this? Sinecure, do you know what he's referring to?

I got the same thing. But not all of the recalls include the free tank of gas. I'm not sure which ones do and don't. But I suspect most people will get a free tank of gas. I thought that was a nice thing Infiniti did. The sad part is whiners will still whine (not everyone is a whiner, but there's a disproportionate number of them on here).

I think it could be caused by the software update requires the engine running and burning the gas. I had my update once for 3 hours and it took almost a quarter of tank of gas. That's what I saw or maybe someone took a spin with my car.

Interesting as there"s no official announcement but must be internal notification by Infiniti to the dealers. My dealer never ask me to fillup the loaner after my use of the loaner.

Dang! My gas tank was full when I took mine for the update that day.
On the bright side, I didn't have to pay for one of my punctured tire which cost $400 ($244 + labor) to replace
So, I got a free tow to the dealer, 1 new tire, oil and filter change, DAS update and whatever inspection on the car all done and not a penny out of my pocket :)

Got the DAS and in-touch updates but no gas. Guess I'm one of the whiners ;)

I was expecting it but didn't notice my tank noticeably more empty when I got it back so I'm not that disappointed.

No free gas for me, but they hardly used any. Next time I'll get free coffee and a soda.

People usually whine more on forums, or air their grievances. By reading some forums, you'd think the cars people drove were assembled by 2nd grade kids with fake tools. It's just the nature of the beast, plus, sometimes people get lucky and find a fix or a workaround.

The free tank of gas may be for the DAS updates or software replacements involving the DAS. That is my guess, since it is an inconvenience for people.

I didn't get my free gas when I did my DAS update couple of months ago.
Yestersday, I went back to the dealer to get my 15K miles oil change + OCS recall.
I ask about the free gas and sure enough it show up on the computer.
I got my free tank of gas fill up.
Save me at least $50 since I since got less than a quarter of a tank when I took it to the dealer :)
