From the above link:

Apple talked up iOS in the Car at its Worldwide Developers Conference last year, with VP Eddy Cue -- a Ferrari board member -- showing a mockup of a car's LCD with Apple menu buttons for maps, phone, music, and messaging. Cue said the functions could be accessible via Siri as well. Many cars already include integration with iOS music functions. Cue said Chevrolet, Ferrari, Honda, Jaguar, Mercedes, Nissan, Volvo and others would be introducing iOS integration this year.

Maybe Nissan needs to place Cue on its board?
They need to concentrate on getting the major systems of the car working before mucking around with the infotainment system.

That being said, Im not sure how open they would be to completely changing platforms mid-stream. I know Ford is abandoning Microsoft but I dont see them changing the current models, vs changing when the current models get redesigned.
iOS is coming to Infiniti; just not the 2014 Q50 ...

Not seeing the Infiniti logo.......
Nissan means Infiniti - or it should be that way.

I hope once Nissan becomes a full partner they will make an upgrade available for our 2014 Q50s. If that does not happen, and 2015 models receive it - you can bet there will be some upset people. Some being an understatement.

Youd figure the Infiniti logo would be on there for sure, its a lot more "flashy" to show luxury brands vs their lesser counterparts. I honestly wouldnt be surprised to see Nissan NOT including Infiniti.

To be quite honest, I have not been very pleased with Infiniti's overall marketing effort. Yes, they've done great with the commercials and whatnot, but overall in a social marketing effort, it's pretty much on the bottom half of my list. I have been an Infiniti customer for years now, and it is sad to see no "above & beyond" effort has really been set forth. It does not amaze me that if in fact Infiniti IS included under the Nissan brand that they decided to show Nissan only. A newer, much younger marketing team is needed at their offices - especially if they plan to make a HUGE statement amongst BMW, Mercedes and even Cadillac.

Nonetheless, I absolutely love my Q50 and it is seriously the best sedan I've ever driven. I recently had a G37 loaner and was surprised at how much more sophisticated the driving in a Q50 is compared to the G.

We'll get there soon enough!!! #TeamInfiniti

I had exactly the same thought and feeling that is what's happening... no offense but it is really is the issue. I had experience before where it is almost impossible for me to propose new stuff since the older you are, the harder to change and accept. They knew that they need to be up to date but the actual implementation is just impossible. To what I see, the only solution would be replacing them or create a separate department to target specific domains. If you go to compaines like apple or facebook, the crowds are totally different and more fresh ideas coming up everyday.

Not adding much to the conversation here but saw this on an Apple website with a photo of the Mercedes setup. Reading the comments section, it seems the overwhelming opinion about the nav/infotainment screen jives with what many are saying on this forum. Figured Simpsontide might want to go on there and see if he can talk these people into liking the slapped on tablet look;)

This is what CarPlay looks like for Mercedes-Benz | iMore
For years I've thought that this is the direction that the auto/smartphone should be moving to. The auto screen only needs to be a dumb terminal with an interface to the smartphone. This way, auto manufacturers can stick with what they do best, design/build cars, leaving computers/apps to Apple etc.
