I noticed that I only get traffic alerts when I set a destination on my Nav system. 99% of the time I don't need Nav guidance but I would like Traffic alerts. Is there any way to do this? Also, my dealer told me the center display between the gauges can show me turn by turn when using Nav guidance. How or can this be done?

How do you suppose it will give you traffic alerts if it doesn't know where you are going?

Getting all the alerts for an area would be pretty annoying. You are better off just pulling them up before you start on your way using the traffic information app within InTouch.
