I emailed my Sales Manager asking her if she had any updated info about whether the cars would be released on Aug 5th and if she knew anything about them having to be inspected, etc. This was her reply:

Thank you for your email. I will let you know what I hear from Corporate tomorrow when they are here at 9AM for our update

From what I have heard the updates will be done VIA USB drive.. Every dealer will be getting 1-5 drives depending on how many cars they have to update. The update will take about 1 hour per car and they will have representatives to inspect the cars to give the final OK.. Also have news about new Priceing of the G37 no more wheat interior and will only come in white, black, silver and graphite shadow... so only 4 colors of the G37 moving foward..

That's all you got?!!? What's the story with inspectors? How will they be at every dealership on the same day?

How can they possibly have "representatives" at every Infiniti dealer on the 5th????
At least yours is responding. I've sent two text messages today asking yet again for numbers so we can get my car on the trade schedule this week!! Two texts to him, no response. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh :mad: Patience is NOT my virtue!!
The inspector part is nuts. How is this going to be possible to have a rep at every dealer?

I gave up trying to contact my guy over email/text. He never responds. I usually call or just show up at the dealership to get my answers when I need one.

I bet my bottom $ on you taking your Q50 home earlier than anyone else on this forum.;)

:rolleyes:This is called multi-tasking from home office.:D
The inspectors will be doing inspections remotely. They will have a broom handle with an iPhone doing Facetime which will be waved around each car.

There are reps for each market that are going from dealer to dealer on Aug 5...My dealer already told me that West Houston Infiniti is 3rd on the list for the Houston market...There are 4 Houston dealers..so mine won't be ready until likely 6pm or so on Monday, worse case scenario Tuesday morning.

Thats horrible.

Inspectors are not inspecting AFTER the update or anything like that. They were here today.. inspection done. The update is just an additionsl step in the dealer setting the car up.

I don't think that is true. My dealer showed me a map of the different dealers in Houston the inspectors are going to on Aug 5 to ensure the update was installed properly and then signing off the cars. My update will be installed at 10am on Monday, but the inspector won't be there until around 5 or 6pm.

So your regional rep JM was at your dealer today to do the inspections?
They are inspecting them AFTER the updates..

Where is Sewell Houston Infiniti on that map? :D

My sales lady told me yesterday that my car will be the first one at their dealership to install the update on August 5

JM wasnt here.. Infiniti reps were here inspecting the Q50's early this afternoon. If there's an additional inspection after that, my GM hasnt told us yet. You could be right.

You need to go over their head and chew out their boos over that. You are after all buying/leasing a $50k car.

None of this inspection business makes any sense. OK, I guess I can see how people would get around to 4 dealerships in Houston, but what about the 30 dealerships in Southern California??? And how could Infiniti possibly have that many reps all over the country? What are all these people doing the rest of the year? Sounds like if they didn't have them our car would be 10K cheaper!

Simple, they hired Santa Clause to make the inspections
