After having followed all the problems with the DAS, this will be the first time I've ever gone somewhere, worrying about whether my car will be disabled at some point, especially if it does happen at a worst time(middle of the night, in a parking lot, a good distance from a city). It isn't a good feeling at all, even though I haven't had the problem. Luckily, the weather forecast where I'm going doesn't have the temperature going below 32 degrees, but judging on what just happened around here - all forecasters being wrong about the snow, ice and temperatures - it does have me worried a little, especially since the car will be outside the whole time. It's obvious that Infiniti does finally have a handle on the SCOPE of the problem, but I'm not confident that they really have a FIX for it, based on the repeated attempts that seem to have failed. A couple of months ago, I thought I would be reporting on the mileage I got, or other aspects of the long drive. It looks like I'll also be reporting on whether I had major problems. Wish me luck. Sigh.:(

We'll pray a Novena for you. Remember to wait the full nine weeks for maximum benefit.

I drove 2000 miles from Chicago to Utica, NY last week and back through snowstorms and minus 20 plus wind chills. It worked fine. My only problem was a layer of ice on the front of car messed with the sonar. I turned it off. I've had my fully loaded Q50 premium since 8/30. Almost 10,000 miles so far and it has been a nice ride. I have complete confidence in the car in any road conditions. And I've seen it all in the last few weeks.

It's good to hear a good report. Obviously, I don't face what you've been dealing with, and I also have been very happy with the car so far. It's just disconcerting to hear of the many reports of the problem, especially since I've been a big supporter of the cars and the company for 15 years.

If your car have no problem, it's most likely you will be fine.
Seem like those that report with problems already got the issues since the beginning.
Good luck with your trip. Oh, how about some scenic pics this time :)

After happening to me this week, I'm trading my Q50s AWD in for the same car without DAS. Should be picking it up today or tomorrow. Everytime I start the car its in the back of my mind. Dont want to take any chances having my kids in the car or it happening to my wife. Living in Chicago I have to drive in the city a lot and thats all I need is to have it happen then late at night. Its more the hassle than anything else.

I agree. You should be fine! Some cars are just lemon regardless what model!!! Have a good trip. My trip with mine has been awesome although it was not cold weather and no DAS!

Man, it hurts to write that way.
You need to read a book on this subject, The Education of H*Y*M*A*N K*A*P*L*A*N, by Leonard Q Ross.

"The humorous adventures of Hyman Kaplan, the irrepressible student at the american Night Preparatory School for Adults, and his personal war with the English language. A classic work of american humor."

This is obviously on topic because of the author's middle initial.
