Please be kind if you respond to this - those "veterans" on here know my mindset and experience.
I again went to the dealer today to check on my car(which I'M TOLD will be here by the end of the week). While I was waiting, I looked more thoroughly inside one of the Q50s. Besides the two USB ports, they also have two round "cigarette lighter" type holes, which I assume is for charging phones, iPods, etc. They also have a "Video in" connection. I was not aware that videos could be played on the screen. There is also an "SOS" button near the sunglass holder. That is part of the Infiniti Connection service, which is notified automatically if airbags deploy. If they don't deploy after an accident, then push the SOS button, and you're connected instantly. The thing that I REALLY like about the Infiniti Connection is that no phone is necessary(according to the salesman). For those with teenagers, if you dare lend the kid the car(yeah, right), and you subscribe to the IC Plus, you can set the maximum speed that you want for the car, and will be notified if that speed is exceeded. That also goes for someone taking the car beyond your set boundaries. AND, along with that, there is Valet Alert, which sets .2 mile as the most your car can be driven after you drop it off, without notifying you. The basic service is free for the first year. Oh, one more thing: When I again asked about the Apple gift card that Infiniti can't seem to send me a notification about, the sales manager said that I would get it, one way or another. It sounds like he's not having an easy time getting Infiniti to straighten things out. I hope he doesn't have to take it out of the dealership's(or his) pocket.
