2016 Q50 S, with 19" dark chrome wheels.

The two front wheels are significantly duller than the rear two wheels. I thought it was caked-on brake dust, but after scrubbing hard, the wheels are still dull.

Any idea how this could have happened? How do I fix this?

What did you use to clean the wheels?

I've seen cars on the road that I'm guessing have never seen a tire rotation or for that matter a good hand wash. The rear wheels are the traditional silver in color and the fronts look to be dark bronze. And a good number of these have been expensive rides.

If you don't clean and maintain the wheels, then the fronts will always start to dull out and look grimy sooner than the rears. Remember the front wheels do the majority of the braking, thus creating more brake dust. If the brake dust and other road grime isn't cleaned off regularly, then the wheels are going to start to look bad.
