Nav Screen Flicker

Hello,

New Q50S Hybrid-Nav owner. Car has 147 miles on it and experienced Nav Screen Flicker on start up. Issue has since happened 3 times. Appears to be in morning after sitting over night. Thought cold weather may have contributed but happened again today at 45 - 50 degrees. I have used the reboot method identified in forum stating to hold radio button for a bit until Nav and Intouch screen blacks out and restart. This fixed the issue first two times but it took 2 tries to resolve last time.

My car is older build date of 5/13 and has Android 2.3 / 2.3.7.0646.

Questions:
- Is the screen flickering the same as "Intouch Freeze" noted in forums or different issue.
- Could someone confirm that my software is latest version and/or is there another software version I should check.
- Lastly off topic... Any chance there is a way to disable the Daytime Running Lights ? (didn't notice an option to disable in manual)

Thank You in advance for your time and assistance. I have found the forum to be VERY helpful with all of the information sharing and as a new owner it is a great resource.

Screen flicker probably is due to loose cable. Take it to your dealer to fix it.
You do have the latest version of Intouch software.
As for the DRL, I don't see anywhere to disable it. I don't know why you wants to disable it. It does make the front looks nicer with it running.

:confused:you need to have dealer check it out, You do have current software but older cars ( like yours may 13) has an applicable ITB13-040- VEHICLE INFORMATION DISPLAY issue, you may be draining/discharging 12V battery .

Correct
You can really disable the led lights while driving. In stand still you can, turn car off and push down the emergency brake. Once you turn it back on it don't be on but the minute you disable the brake it will come back on.

Flickering navigation screen is an old bug on some earlier builds. Mine does this quite frequently when I have a USB stick also connected. And much less when there is no USB stick.

Some have had their external drive hub in the center console replace. In a few cases, it helped but in most cases that I know about, it has not helped.

In my case, I have tried several USB sticks. It does not seem to matter. My USB stick only works 1 out of 10 times.

My dealer did some diagnostics and it looks like the issue is associated with a communications protocol that is failing.

My dealer is waiting for the next intouch update in hopes that it will fix the problem.
Yes. Looks like I will schedule my first visit to dealer to have it checked out.
Hopefully, just a loose cable...

Regarding the emergency brake... Do you need to engage the emergency brake in order to enter hybrid mode ? The manual mentioned engages prior to starting on Hybrid but I thought it was just a precaution issue. Sometimes the car is quiet when I start and others the engine comes on. Guessing this is tied to battery charge level ....

What kind of behavior do you see from the Hybrid engine with regard to starting up ...

Thanks
I had Nav screen flicker happen once after switching from reverse camera mode. The audio reset did not fix it. When I stop/started car it came back altogether black and I thought it was broken for sure. Next time I started it was back to normal and has not happened for the past 3 weeks.
My Q50 has 1900 miles on it. Awesome car. This morning when I started in the cold, the Navigation screen flickered and was not clear. I'm glad to know this is not an isolated situation. I will follow your suggestions. Thanks.
