New Bug 2? Forward sonar seeing ghosts and stopping car?

Twice now when starting out in the vehicle from it having been parked, I will pull out of a parking spot and be driving forward with the driver aids turned on (without anything in front of the car, including there being no indication in the display of the system picking up a vehicle), only to have the car abruptly stop as if a collision was imminent.

Has anyone else experienced this? Thankfully, it has not done this at speed, only while moving slowly, but it is unsettling to think that it could. It would quite possibly cause an accident.

I only use the driver aids when on longer highway trips or when driving in rush hour traffic (it is helpful in stop and go in case someone slams on their brakes, as people often do).

Any other experience with this?

Have you discussed with the dealer? It seems that this is something that would happen alot as pulling out of a parking spot is not uncommon.
It sound like your sonar got issue. Best advice is take it to your dealer to have them check.
You can try to adjust the sonar sensitivity to see if it help. I doubt it but you never know.
I have a long list of issues with the dealer. Generally they are all news to them. This one has been added for our next discussion. Will be there in a few days, most likely, as they are awaiting a part to supposedly fix my occasionally endlessly beeping sonar when backing up.
I sounds like something is majorly wrong with the sonar if you are also having problems with backing up. And that does sound pretty dangerous. Haven't heard of it happening on other Q50s though. I would probably turn off the driver's assist until I bring it into the dealership. I wouldn't want even a small accident to happen in a parking lot because the brakes turned on for no reason.
Mike, I'd guess that the two sonar issues are related.

We've had a couple cars doing this. Seems that for now, finding a way to trigger the sonar at one end of the car or another will clear things up. Unless it is an issue with some sort of control unit for the sonar, I'm guessing this is something that will be addressed in a software update. I'm pretty sure Infiniti is aware of the issue because we've had a couple factory techs at our shop checking out each and every odd-ball issue (this one included).
