Anybody else excited about the rumors of a new Valentine 1 possibly coming to market.
Has anybody heard about this?
The V1 store has had the V1 listed as "Temporarily Out of Stock" for a few weeks now and that is creating interwebs rumors that a new model may be coming soon.

Here's one of the threads with gossip about this:

I wonder if they will do the upgrade for it?

Me too. My V1 is about 10 years old and going strong, but it looks dated.
I'm hoping that they update the looks to bring it up to speed with current design. Adding GPS, or a way to mute at low speeds would be great too.

The Escort Max 360c has that and a lot more, but it is expensive.

I have the V1 and the remote display so people behind me don't see flashing red... like the coppers.😉 It has a mute button. So does the detector but your reaching to mute it is very visable. I have the remote low and can mute it outta sight from most angles.

I had a V1 for a while until someone stole it. I can turn on dark mode on a 360c so no indicators flash and it auto-mutes also. GPS tagging to eliminate fixed radar sources, blocking specific frequencies on K-band to reduce false alarms, direction arrows to show where the radar source is, GPS calculated speed display, WiFi for downloading the Defender database of speed traps, red light cameras, speed cameras, even air patrol planes...it's got everything.

They’ve been out of stock longer than a few weeks. I tried to upgrade around May and the store was out of stock so I called the company and they told me middle of June, It’s now August and still nothing. Either they are planning a revamp or tossing in the towel.

I’m now seriously considering the Uniden R7 or the Escort Max 360c.
Hopefully V1 will have some news before I pull the trigger on a new unit.

I love my V1. But I'm colorblind. I hope they change the color scheme for the lights. I can't see a damned thing on it if I have sunglasses on, and barely anything with my regular glasses. I just go by the beeps.

In So Cal, a radar / laser detector is near worthless. Cops don't use radar much and once your laser detector alerts, you've already been nailed. You really need a good laser jammer. Waze is very useful too.

That's interesting. I go by sound too, but look up at the V1 to check the arrows when it alerts. I would think that any new upgrade would include a better display, maybe OLED, and a set of preferences to adjust/change color or theme. IMO V1 has a lot of room for improvement in the UI and looks of the product.

I like Waze too, but it is not great around here for speed traps.
I hear you, not much you can do about the laser other than use a jammer, but I think those are not legal in most states. The few times that I've been hit with laser I've been able to hit the brakes right away and by the time the second zap came I was at the speed limit. In the case of laser, the detector at least makes you aware that you've been zeroed in.
Around here most of the speed radar is Ka band, and usually always on. The V1 can find those a few miles away.

to each his own...and take it with a grain of salt. The period of time that I got a lot of speeding tickets was when I had my V1...2004 to 2006.

I got rid of it and havent had a speeding ticket since then.

If you drive without the false sense of security, you have less chance of getting dinged.

Basically I have mine to tell me when Volvos come by, those nag speedo calebration signs, highway bullitan signs, and to keep me awake on long drives. My V1 has informed me of a few rolling radar, and parked radar traps, but I mostly set my CC at 71-72 depending on traffic. Spidie sense helps a lot.
Im sure Avedis53 has the best. Not sure I'll bail on my V1 just yet. They may have an upgrade program if and when they come out with a new model.
I also want a 2 channel dashcam.

I would look at the new Uniden R7. Best detector on the market. A V1 and Escort can’t even come close.

I've read a few great reviews on the R7.
Do you use one? How does it do filtering out radar from vehicles with auto cruise control and blind spot detectors?

I do own one and I’ve had mine for about 6 months. I love it. Had an R3 and sold it on Facebook Marketplace and bought the R7. It has a special filter you can turn on and off for BSM. Updates are easy via the web and the screen is OLED and very nice. You can fully customize the color of the arrows and alerts and overall super customizable. Highly recommend and most places will let you try it out for 30 days to return if you’re not happy. The range is insane and I had a V1 in the past and no longer a V1 fan since Uniden really took charge of the market.

Sound perfect. I think your review has put the R7 on the top of my list.
I'm looking into a new adapter for my BlendMount that will fit the R7 right now. Looks like for $30 I can swap my V1 mount for the R7 one. Not bad.

Thanks for the info.
