Hi, after I got a new engine last fall for the notorious coolant leak, I noticed the heat on the driver's side vent was colder than the passengers side. I've had this car for many years and usually leave it on 72', but now it feels like I have the AC on and I have to put it to a much higher temp like 75'-80' to feel comfortable. It's predominantly the driver's side center vent that blows colder air, however sometimes I noticed even on the passenger's side blows cold, when the temp is set to 75'.

I have noticed that colder air usually occurs when driving, not when parked etc.
I have also noticed that the top driver's side center vent still blows cold air (a little bit), even when I have the air for footwell area only.

Thoughts on how to fix it? Thank you!!

Thanks for the response, is that the same as the blend door actuator?

When they changed the engine they also changed 277324gf0c (blend door actuator driver's side) and 271544gf0a (link air door) as during the summer I was complaining the AC was not as cold on the driver's side. It seems the issue is still on going and now the heat is not as hot on the driver's side.

Today I noticed that when I have the heat at '73, air to both top and footwell vents, the top center driver's side vent blows cold while the driver's footwell was warm. How could it be just 1 vent giving me the wrong temps?

What is a link air door? There's a mode door, air mix door for the driver's side and passenger side, and an intake door.

Yes the vid is helpful, thank you. I actually ordered another driver's side blend door actuator, so will be watching vids like that for instructions on how to change it.

So I've been paying attention to the footwell vents on driver's side and passenger's side, and they haven't been blowing cold air when I have the heat on going to both top and bottom vents, and no cold air when I have heat to bottom vents only. Maybe the issue is the mode door actuator (27741-4GF0A)?

Thanks for your help guys, the forums are more informative than the dealerships.

The dealership has been no help, every time I bring it they can't reproduce the issue and finally when they felt the cold air they actually said it's the heater core and they also said the part costs $2,000+ and ton of labor b/c you need to remove the dash/steering wheel etc. A quick google shows the part $263, so I'm taking what they say w/ a grain of salt.
