Well that's just the thing--I think the balance is there. The Q50 still kept a lot of the basic functions on buttons and knobs and have used the touchscreen primarily for navigation, menus, options, and apps. I think getting rid of all buttons similar to the new MKZ or the Model S is probably going to be a lot harder to embrace than something that combines the two.CONS: Knobs and buttons replaced by touchscreen inputs promises some frustration.
This seems to be a trend with most touchscreen systems. I think its personal preference.. Having it all in the touchscreen allows for a cleaner looking center console but no tactile feedback and I guess some people prefer a button. But if you make too many buttons people will complain.
Manufacturers need to figure out which functions are important and make those buttons and make everything else within the touchscreen.
