Jeffpeds,

I honestly thought you were joking when I started reading your post denigrating Canada, but after finishing your post, it was apparent that you were serious. If I were Canadian, I'd certainly feel offended by your jingoistic remarks about my country. You brush off BHC's objection, insinuating that bashing a country is somehow less of an affront than these alleged personal attacks you claim I've lashed out against you.

I had to go back and review the RFT threads looking for these personal attacks and nowhere did I find any unless you feel that my use of the word Dumbflops was personally directed at you as ridicule. I've used Dumbflops to describe the Dunlop A/S RFTs long before you ever registered on this forum, so don't think it was directed at you personally. It's simply my opinion about the tire and I stand behind it based on my personal experience. That we disagree on the usefulness and safety of the tire is fine with me as I'm satisfied with what I have now as you are with your RFTs.

On the other hand, your personal attacks were numerous. You called me ridiculous, over the top, hysterical and that I don't know how to handle driving in the rain. You made that dismissive comment about my wife that you deleted and that I am like a know-it-all uncle that turns into a rabid animal if you disagree with him (my favorite). Please show me where I've used descriptors like you have to personally attack you.

Don't think for a moment that "you know where I stand on the topic of the outstanding great country known as The United States." Debating politics (and religion) on a forum is fruitless as we all have our own opinions and no one is going to convince the other that their ideology is superior. I try to avoid these discussions because of that regardless of my personal opinions. Your MAGA/Trump dogma obviously makes no bones about your political beliefs. I've been a registered Republican probably longer than you've been alive yet I voted for neither Trump or Clinton as I felt both were poor choices for President. Trump's actions have certainly validated my opinion of him and I suspect Clinton would have also but we'll never know.

I am an opinionated person like everyone else here. I am a spelling and grammar Nazi and proud of it but I do try to be humorous about it (BHC knows this better than anyone). I am excessively sarcastic in some of my responses but that's just me. I do put a lot of effort into providing knowledge to others who have questions if I can find the answers they are looking for and I believe my overall impact on this forum has been one of being a contributor.

I truly don't understand your animosity towards me but like me, you're entitled to think what you will. Peace out.

After reading your post the word sanctimonious comes to mind.

If you honestly believe saying someone or anyone is ridiculous, over the top or hysterical is really a personal attack I feel sorry for you but understand you a bit better. Now if I said you had issues that would be a personal attack. You brought your wife into the conversation. You claim she has issues with hydroplaning. All I said was you should teach her to drive. We were all taught as children (teens) that simply taking our foot off the gas pedal would stop hydroplaning and we should drive slower in the rain. I deleted the comment which in reality was not bad but maybe distasteful. Yet you had a need to attempt to capitalize on it and come across as some type of victim twice now.

You claim your a republican which after the comments you have made on this forum are absurd as best. Even more so when you call out a member for defending the United States after another member bashed this great country we live in. I have no real issues with a member that is a foreigner that bashes this country. As a matter of fact I admire that member for being a patriot to his country. But find it shocking a member from this country would take sides of a foreigner after severely bashing the United States. That act alone is not one of a republican and more Bernie or Obama supporter. President Trump is more of a republican than any president since Reagan. Anyone that claims they are a republican and dislikes Trump is only fooling themselves. Remember his approval rating among republicans is at a all time high for any republican in history. He as most real republicans stand for this country and puts her first. Maybe you are happy with illegals pouring across the border and China taking our jobs and technology. In that case you sound like a establishment democrat. Maybe you best think about changing parties and stop fooling yourself.

I don’t care if you’re opinionated at all. I believe that is great. You just have a chip on your shoulder after I called you out on your over the top bashing of Dunlop’s. So the animosity starts with you.

In the end I very much value your insights and opinions on the Q50 excluding your over the top comments on Dunlop’s. Your place on this forum is well established and you’re very helpful to those in need. For that I thank you. I hope in the future we can debate or discuss the benefits and flaws of the Dunlop’s in a more civil manner. Have a good day sir.

Personally I can find some value in opinions and posts from virtually everyone who frequents this forum (except maybe my own). I feel that we lose valuable information when a member decides to no longer contribute and either just lurks or leaves altogether. The percentage of Q50 owners that seek out a forum is very small compared to the total number, so any loss of contributors only hurts those who remain. I've witnessed these kerfuffles on other forums and as a bystander they make me uncomfortable as I dislike direct confrontations (hence my retreat from retail pharmacy a couple decades ago).

Asides: I had to look up "jingoistic", and I used two spaces between sentences.

I dislike confrontations on the internet, but I am just fine with it in person.

Some of you guys shouldn’t be surprised. I mean honestly. LOOK AT THE COMPETITION. Mercedes C class, BMW M3, Audi A/S5. **** even Lexus. All of these cars have interiors that literally blow infiniti out of the water by a huge margin. And are also waaaay faster. Infiniti just keeps digging themselves In a hole and can’t seem to catch up. Even the **** Project S they talked about is taking too long and seems like it won’t be as great as they’re talking. Granted I’m a Q50 owner, but Seriously disappointed. I heard rumors about a potential refresh this fall, but if it’s **** like the rest of the lineup, (yes the QX50 and other SUVs are crap, I mean the interior has been the same for the last decade) then I’ll definitely be making the trade In at a nicer Lexus or Benz.
(Just my take on the matter)
Which Models are you speaking about? The Mercedes C43 AMG costs close to $15,000 more than the Q50. M3 is nearly $30,000 more and the S5 is close to $20,000 more. The only car out of that group that's noticeably faster is the M3 and the Q50 RS is not in the same class. All the other cars I named are around about the same as the Q50 power wise. Lexus? Lexus doesn't have anything that competes with the Q50 RS other than the ISF which is discontinued. RCF possibly but it also costs nearly 70,000 new.

People who are political extremists, be they far right like you or far left scare me because they put party ideology above all else including common sense. That's your right though and you can spout all the jingoistic, nationalistic dogma you want and claim that people who don't think like you do are not patriots. I could care less. Your political viewpoints are simply yours alone and are no more important or valid than mine or anyone else's.

Statistics are a funny thing. They can say whatever you want them to say if you pick a particular data subset to influence the results. I'm sure Hitler's approval rating was just as high, if not higher than Trump's if you polled just National Socialist German Workers’ Party members in the 1930's.

However, Trump's approval rating among Republicans is not the highest in history as you incorrectly stated. To be accurate, that goes to George W. Bush after 9/11 based on Gallup Poll data (96%).

Now if we change the data set to include all voters, Gallup Poll data shows Trump to have the second lowest job approval rating of the last 10 presidents with Jimmy Carter being slightly lower.

Aren't statistics wonderful?

As far as calling me out? LOL! I expressed my opinion about Dumbflops and you expressed yours. How does one "call out" an opinion with just another opinion. I can bash Dumbflops all I want. If you disagree, that's fine with me. I have no chip on my shoulder concerning you personally and the only animosity I have is towards Dumbflop for making such an overpriced, underachieving RFT and Infiniti for putting them on my Q. I'm really not sure what you're arguing about anyway since you also stated multiple times that they are not the best tires by a long shot and that you'll be replacing them with a different tire when they wear out. Based on your preference for RFTs, I'm sure you can find one that's better than the Dumbflop.

At any rate, I'm done with this debate. I'll be a gentleman and let you have the last word as this exchange isn't worth any more effort or time on my part and I can tell having the last word is important to you.

You too have a good day!

People whom are not loyal to their country like you not just scare me they greatly concern me. As for statistics I would hope you would have been smart enough to exclude the attack on 9/11 which was clearly an anomaly in United States history. What truly concerns me even more is a so called republican unwilling to defend his country when a foreigner demeans her. Simply because he was upset over being called out over his hysterical comments on Dunlop’s. So clearly your loyalties are confused as your politics.

Since your into statistics are yours from the same people that predicted your candidate Hillary would win in 2016? Aren’t statistics wonderful?

A fair point indeed.

By the numbers and nearly ally reported measures Hitler was actually insanely popular and effective... now the repercussions and results of those decisions
are a totally different matter.

If we could say one thing about dictators it's that most of them are really good at getting stuff done. Just for the wrong reasons most of the time.

Outstanding point.

Hitler was also insanely popular with the media unlike most of today’s leaders in the US today with few exceptions like AOC, the Clinton’s and Obama’s. The effectiveness of those exceptions are certainly debatable though.

As for dictators getting things done. I think the citizens of Cuba and Venezuela would differ with you greatly. History can be rewritten but one can only go so far.

Yeah, it was an IS F Sport. Now that I've web searched it, I'd never heard of the ISF. They probably discontinued it out of customer confusion.

The ISF has long been discontinued, but the engine is still being used in GSF and RCF models today. The GS still has both the "F" and "F Sport" though.

These sport line badging is really atrocious and further confuses many consumers. The single letter badge ("F") is the real deal. Same goes for BMW "M Sport" vs "M" or the Audit "S line" vs "S" and their upper tier "RS"

Interesting. I read the manual that came with the car. I have found the nav system to be quite capable. Just this morning in heavy traffic here in Chicago and the north suburbs the system got me exactly where I needed to be, and with a extremely accurate ETA. I use Scout as a backup with similar results.

The 2 screen system allows me to go through my XM stations knowing exactly what song is being played along with my library from my IPhone without losing the map view. Quite impressive.
your bar is pretty low

A classmate of mine is a citizen of Venezuela. He has a bodyguard with a submachine gun and a professional trained evasive trained driver. Kidnapping is a lucrative business down there.

He does not spend much time there.

Central (to enclude Mexico) and South America are not the safest places to live.
