What do you guys think of the Q50 tail lights, now that the sales date is upon us? I know early on around Auto Show season many (including myself!) were perplexed and disappointed at the lack of "oomph", compared to the aggressive and commanding front end. However, I must say, the tail has definitely grown on me quite a bit since that time. In fact, now that I have seen it illuminated at night on the road, I think it has a distinctive look from a distance and is not totally as "boring" as I felt months ago. What are your impressions??

Still have to see it in the dark!

It is one of the things that stood out with my G35 and I loved how easily recognizable it was at night! Based on the pic from the edmunds review though, it looks sexy! :D

i personally dont like the shape as much as the G37s taillights, i'll be finding a solution to give the tail lights a light black tint.

Yeah, I have to agree. They're "just there," as if the designers wanted to finish up as quickly as possible. They're not bad, just not as "wow!" as the headlight array. And as someone said here, they do blend in with my red. That's all right, since that's what my present one does as well.

If you ever do, pls post a pic! I wanna see how that goes cuz I am really not sure it'll look right because of how the taillights illuminate!

i wouldnt say they rushed the job, but shape wise it just doesnt seem to fit the styling language of the car to me. The front lights are amazing and i love the sport facia, however the tail lights just look more tame and dont seem to fit the car well. I'm sure it'll grow on me

The tail lights IMO are the least striking exterior design element during the daytime. I do like them at night though—they echo the the crescent "eyes" of the headlights and look unique. Four red eyes watching from behind. Great photo of them!

If only Infiniti had gone 100% LED (turn signals and reverse lights). It's not a huge deal to me, but if I were to pick something out that bugs me, that's it.

For me it has never been a real issue with the actual tail light design as I knew they "eyes" we're mimicking the headlights. I personally think the entire back end, as a whole, is boring and lacks the personality and distinction as the rest of the car. Especially the Sports fascia; it is like two separate cars! Hopefully it will grow on me but at least it isn't something I will see while driving! :D

!!!! I was so puzzled that they finally didn't use this opportunity to install rear LED turn signals. Baffles the mind with all of the other LEDs wrapped around this car. :(

I still like the taillights on the 2005-2010 Ms. When you see them you know your see an Infiniti - no doubt at all.
True, but I will say the G rear circular LEDs have started to become copycat material, circa 2011- Dodge Avenger . I think you will come to notice the distinctive nature of the Q50 taillights when you see them on the road at night from afar. I can't think of another car model that has a similar illuminated LED rear set as the Q50.

2014 Chev Impala rear view

If you're talking about the Q50...nah. I see slight similarities, but it doesn't immediately scream Q50 to me.
