Real Reviews

Not til late next month, or early May. Basing that off of the dates set for the Q50 driving event which is when everyone gets to get their hands on one including all the major mags. This is what Nissan did last year with the Altima, and after that event all the first impressions were released.

In the UK the preorder deadline for delivery at September launch is also June 30, so if you guys are working to the same schedule it's unlikely owners will get their hands on them July 1.

As far as real reviews go i'd be surprised if Infiniti didn't use some of the test-drive cars due in June for magazine-reviews and road-tests.

My understanding from the last conversation I had with my sales rep is that event took place this past weekend. I would anticipate seeing hands on reviews from the media any time this week or next.

"That event" starts today and runs through the 26th... We probably won't see reviews till the end of may or beginning of June closer to official release date which unofficially is sometime in July for it to hit dealer lots ... But at this point who knows if Infiniti is making all media keep silent until closer to the on the street date

Good info to know, I guess come friday, the weekend or even monday we'll see a ton of Infiniti Q50 reviews from all of the popular automotive media groups going live.

Anyone have their favorite automotive media group they want to see a review from?

Mine is AutoBlog, love how detailed they get.

Yea, it depends if Infiniti is putting the reviewers under an embargo unntil a specific date or not. I'm thinking that they will prob post their "First Drive" articles prob around the end of this week or sometime next week.

For a car that Infiniti is ceasing preorders on in less than a month, I am surprised that there is not a single real hands-on review out there. We are going to see more and more advertising in the next few weeks. I just can't see the reason for holding back at this point since we know production models have started rolling off the line. Meanwhile, the media is putting plenty of info out there about the new Lexus IS.

The most likely reason is that production units have not yet landed in the US. And the big reviewers need to get their hands on a production unit before they can review it.

Also, we don't have official mpg figures yet. The EPA is responsible for providing the fuel economy data that is used by consumers. I suspect their testing is not finished.

I figure official marketing efforts will start July 1, 3 weeks from now. Till then, info will trickle in. Then bamm. I would not be surprised if an "all out" marketing effort starts - just a guess.

Autoblog and Jalopnik are my top two, then Consumer Reports, then whoever else. CR tends to be unbiased while Autoblog and Jalop definitely have their favorite brands.
