Hey All,

I wanted to start off by saying it's been about 10 days since the purchase of my new graphite Q50S AWD plus navigation, and I love it so far :D (minus some in-touch lock-up issues).

The one thing I'm not excited about is that the rear-view mirror's buttons do not light up on my mirror. It's somewhat frustrating accidentally hitting the wrong button driving home from work when its dark outside, or having to turn the light on to make sure its the correct garage.

My question was the buttons are not meant to be lit up correct? And do any of the line-ups come with mirrors that do? My mom purchased an RX350 recently with a very similar mirror (same design/set-up), with illuminated buttons, so I wasn't sure if the touring package or something had illuminated buttons?

Mine is a fully loaded Q50 and those button doesn't lit up :(
Maybe there is a way, but I haven't find it, either.
I programmed my garage opening to the left most button so I can easily find it in the dark.

true - the indicator lights come on when you press button, also the compass in the mirror should be on when car is on,

They actually got rid of the backlighting in the newer RX - dumb move! Lots of complaints about that.

I use the large button next to the light on the mirror for my usual door. I rarely use the others so it's easy to find the button next to the light.

The green light in the middle of four buttons on the mirror should be on when the head lights are on... so seeing the buttons s/b easy or turn on the map light.

That's two wrong answers - want to try for a third? The green light will go on when the car is started; the headlights have nothing to do with it.

I can't see why Infiniti would make any buttons in the Q50 not light up. Seems like a pretty standard feature for any vehicle, let alone a luxury vehicle. I can't see there being a very good reason for the decision either. You will get to know where the buttons are in no time though. You just got to give it a little bit of time.

They are all like that it seems...not just the Q but the several cars I looked at today.

Me too. It works just fine, but I'm only using the one button.

The only reason I could think of would be not having another light in the drivers field of vision.

In my opinion, its not a distraction at all. The backlit buttons are not bright enough to provide any type of glare, but just enough to tell the garage doors apart. Here's a shot I took of the RX mirror. I know its not a big deal, but just wanted to share.

I had the same question regarding the back-lit buttons, in the new QX80. It seems Infiniti does not provide this option. Particularly irksome as the Nissan Armada I'm leaving behind did - and the equipment looks and functions exactly the same...

I agree I have a jaguar xj82004 buttons in the mirror are illuminated, my dad camry2018 the same thing but my QX50 2020 is not, at the beginning I thought it was like they forgot to plug a wire I go on youtube and don't see any that are on then i came to this forum to find the sad fact that they are not iluminated, a distraction it is not and this is not a smart move from infiniti.

Hmmmm...I seem to have stumbled into a Q50 / OX50 rift in the space-time continuum.
