When I was at the dealer getting another issue taken care of the person who sold me the car was going over the tech features. He kind of eluded to the possibility of this feature in conjunction with the Infiniti app, which is still not available, on a smart phone. Anyone hear about this?

I haven't heard anything about this, neither has the service manager at my dealership. He said he would let me know if anything came up, but he didn't hear anything about a remote starter yet for the Q50.

It is available at a cost of $600.00. It takes hour and a half to install, and you will receive new remotes because the one that came with the car will no longer work.
Where did you hear this because that would be great if true!

Not knocking your credibility, just wondering because my dealer said he didn't know when or have a time frame of when remote start might be available for the Q50. More info please!! :D

Yeah this has to be aftermarket. There's nothing from Infiniti for OEM remote start. And how could you get new remotes and not use the old ones anymore if it needs the remote to start the car when you're inside? Doesn't the aftermarket install cause you to have to carry two remotes? (remote starter remote and the original one to start the car)

Wouldn't mind having an aftermarket remote starter installed if I could start the car with a smartphone app, and not have to carry two different remotes. But, the best would be on that is made by Infiniti to use with your Smart Key.

I would love a remote start as well! Its been a regimen of mine lately to have the car in idle till i see the "now loading" gone so it would help! I would wait for infiniti to make one for the Q50 though!

That's one of the main reasons why I want one. Just so the car is ready to drive by the time I get into it. I wouldn't mind the solution of starting it from my phone and only carrying the original key fob. I could go the Viper smart start route like I had on my TL. But I would really like and Infiniti solution to this instead. I could live with just remote starting from the stock key fob as well.

Where is it available? I have seen nothing anywhere offering an OEM remote starter for the Q50.
My dealership has published advertisements of remote start installation linked to the i-Key. However, the cost is $1,000. Not ever in this world is that acceptable or rational. Anyway, I still wanted to know if it has been fitted on a Q50, and she said I would be the first and that it "should work". No thanks.

Jason beat me too it. Pretty sure that person who told you there's an app coming that will start your car is smoking crack.

And the person who got quoted $600 (or sort of made that up based on something they found online in infiniti parts) - was talking about the option for the JX35/QX60. All JX35's had remote start capability, you just needed to buy the key fobs and have them programmed. Since remote start is not an offered option for the Q50, I sincerely doubt that a keyfob with a remote start button is going to make it magically appear as a feature on the car. Oh, and two keyfobs including programming would cost over $500.

The salesperson who sold me the car talked around the subject. He had just been to some type of technology training on the car. Just throwing it out here to see if there was any substance to the rumor.
