OK, I posted something similar before.
From prior posts and recent infiniti press release with MPG, the hybrid is supposed to get, max highway MPG of 36. City is probably 29. I'll use 33 as an optimistic overall MPG.
The prior V6 infiniti engine was 21/27 for a combined of about 24 MPG.
Both q50 (non hybrid and hybrid) have 18 gallon tanks.
Price of premium near me is $3.76 per gallon today. (Your location will vary).
Range of hybrid therefore is 594 miles (18 gallons x 33 MPG) if you drain the tank.
Range of non hybrid is a respectable 432 miles (18 x 24 MPG).
Cost is same either way for one tank - $67.68 (18 x $3.76).
I drive 13,250 miles per year average on my current 8.5 year old car.
That's $1,510.00 rounded up for the hybrid and 22.31 tanks per year.
Non hybrid is $2,076.00 rounded up and 30.67 tanks per year.
difference is $566 per year. Hybrid costs $1650 plus tax (7.75% here) so about $1773.75. $1773.75/566.00 is about 3.13 years.
Both are fully loaded AWD Sport (non hybrid and hybrid) which is the only version that holds my interest.
You also save about 7 trips to the gas station per year. Only a Tesla would be fewer!
