I've got to get some better wheels and drilled and slotted rotors so I can be like John. I can't stand the OEM wheels hiding the brake calipers and drilled and slotted rotors just look better than OEM rotors.

They also shed heat faster and are better in the rain. Also, purchase the "rings" which come with new hardware so you can rebuild them using the hat section over and over. Just buy them b4 you do your brakes. Faster than turning them, if needed.

@JohnInNH

What pads did you go with when you replaced your rotors? I need to figure out a better pad than the OEM because they aren't very good, especially when doing some emergency braking.

I kept my oem pads as they only had 2500 or so miles on them. So far so good. I'll upgrade when I replace them. Z1 has some data on different replacements. I think Hawk has some charts too.

I have time to figure out what's going to work the best for me. Being a DD I need good initial performance. I don't track it so my pads and disks have time to cool between times i need hard braking so initial bite is important.

Some pads perform better when hot at the expense of initial cold bite. Also I don't want to have to replace the rotors as often as some high performance agressive pads eat rotors. I have to balance all aspects of the pads. Wet, cold, initial bite is a common need in a DD so that is a big factor along with disk life.

Dust is not a real issue for me because my rims are dull gray and we have lots of sand here..even dirt roads. My wheels always need a wash. 😉

I'd be interested in knowing what you pick, and why.

Carbotech™ 1521 at Z, a little pricy but I'm looking at these

And the EBC Bluestuff NDX Brake pads a little noisy though?

Or... I may just try the Infiniti Maintenance Advantage brake pads from Sid at Discount Infiniti parts. Sid's Sids video:
