I have seen after market that do match the paint. IMHO, they destroy the lines that make the Q50 so **** sexy...

I'm normally a fan of side mouldings (have them on my Equinox and they took a big ding that would have resulted in a big dent). I don't like how they look on the Q50

Agree with SnowItch. I do have them and always have on my 2005 TL and they've saved the side panel several times. However, they are big dirt catchers.

Not to mention wax catchers. Get that tiny toothbrush ready for the wax job.

Thanks for the feedback and all the considerations are valid....until the first paint chip and ding appears. I am torn.

Don't put molding on. I'd rather have a couple dings rather than those ugly moldings in my opinion

<y dealer offered me ding repair for I think $250/year. Unlimited dings. I declined. See if you dealer offers something like that if it worries you./

That's not a bad deal (and a good compromise). A little more expensive than the side mouldings, but it does give you piece of mind without ruining the aesthetics of the automobile.
