Yea, there is a last minute update. Latest word from my GM is that update should be in dealer hands tomorrow at 2pm with tutorials from Corporate on how to install the software update. I spoke with Corporate today and they eased my mind a little today. They said I should have my car tomorrow night.
So... my Q50S AWD is not ready.
Lurked on the sight for a bit and have been looking at the new Q50 for a few months. I had access to one of the test cars several times (a car which has already been sent to the shredder). I have an 11 G37XS, and have been happy with it.
But after sitting in and playing with the new Q, I was really looking forward to the release date... which was supposed to be today. With a test drive this past Saturday, a deposit and a credit check submitted, as well as a VPP code in hand, I was all set. Emptied out the G, cleaned it up inside and out, and even topped of the windshield washer fluid. Paced back and forth all day at work today.
Got to my dealer at 330pm. Walked in, grabbed a water, and waited for the sales manager. Well, he greets me, and says "We can't sell you the car today. There's a software update needed, and the car won't be ready till next Monday."
Well... crap. There's going to be a whole lotta pacing for the next week. The last time I was this excited about a new car was when I went to pick up my 350Z back in 2005.
Anyway, am getting $2700 off for VPP, and am waiting on the Sport AWD with the nav & touring package in obsidian with graphite & wood trim. This will be another in a long line of Nissan/Infiniti cars for me. Trying to talk the Mrs into that new JX.

This is apparently not being done by dealer staff (at least in my area), they are actually sending out techs specifically for the update to ensure accuracy prior to launch. Even the boss man can't take one out for more than a test drive.
On a side note, the S in the white with black interior is growing on me. Looks like an Imperial storm trooper.

Actually, they did. Unfortunately for me, somehow missed their call while on the road. I realized I had forgotten to turn on my bluetooth on my phone... and with the windows down and the roof open, I didn't hear it. Oh well...
