I have been driving a bit on the highways here in Atlanta lately and I have been getting so frustrated with slow drivers in the left lane. I just couldn't figure out why everyone was going slow. Then I looked down at my speedometer. I was running 80-90 mph and didn't even realize it! The Q50 is effortlessly fast and super quick to respond. That speed feels like 50 mph in any other car, even my prior Infiniti's (G35, G37, M37).

Just a realization that I'm sure everyone can agree on.

Fun times!

Agreed. That is why I always set the cruise control when I am on the expressway. I don't want to see blue lights in my rear view mirror.

Ditto here. It's solidly planted, and incredibly quiet at speed.

I've had the same experience. This car cruises very comfortable at 80 a 90 MPH. Must be careful...

I gunned mine the other day when my lane ended and had to pass another car. By the time I looked down, (seconds) I was at ludicrous speed plus. I figured I'm already there, what's another few mph....it was effortless and very smooth. BTW, This was early in the morning and the only other car near me was the one I passed.

that happens way to much with me too, I get on the highway, didn't look at my speed because I thought I was going 80kmh (50mph) and look down at the speedo and I was astounded with the speed I was traveling at

So I agree our q50 is quick, BUT a 2011 bmw 750 pulled away from me like I were a Nissan sentra. Don't challenge a 750 lol

Had one of those situations yesterday morning (at 4:30 A.M.!) Was merging onto local expressway and of course some bozo was in the right lane (3 lanes to his left were totally open).

You could tell he was just being an ass because as I was trying to merge over he tried to match my speed so I couldn't come out of the merge lane (happens more and more around here - drivers are becoming real dickheads).

Boy was I glad I had the extra acceleration of the Q. Tapped the gas and I was gone. Looked down at the speedometer and I had jumped up to 85 in a split second.

Love the power...:D

Used to live in NOVA and the way people drive there is rather selfish (ie ,rarely does anyone let you merge) and one needs to drive aggressively to get anywhere. It's a totally different in Western PA where people are much more friendly and let you in. Shocked me at first as I wasn't used to this, and took me a while to adjust my driving style but driving is so much more relaxed here.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest. I remember in Driving Class, they emphasized moving over into the left lane so people could merge into the right lane (you failed your driving test if you didn't do this).

My son and daughter both learned to drive in NOVA. I remember with both of them when I went out driving with them would not move over (they would usually slow down, but wouldn't move over). When I questioned them about it, they both said that none of their driving instructors ever said anything about it. So not only are they self-absorbed and selfish, they aren't being taught simple courtesies.

It is an unpleasant place to drive :(

Agreed... as a fellow ATL driver, I was wondering the same thing. I just drove back from Orlando this weekend in the driving rain and had to force myself to slow down because the car was rock solid even on the rain-soaked roads.

You're right that it would be a simple courtesy, and it shouldn't be something that they only "learn" in a driving class. However, even being courteous sometimes doesn't help. About ten years ago, I was driving south on I-75 in Florida, just passing the interchange with I-10. I was in the middle lane, giving room for anyone who would be merging from eastbound I-10. One car coming from that direction decided to get in the middle lane immediately, and "nicked" my car on the rear, passenger side(not a pleasant feeling). I was able to maintain control and continued on. When the a$$hole finally passed me on the left(which I knew he would), he gave ME the finger. As I said in another post, there are those who think they are more important than you and I.
