SRS Warning Light

My SRS warning light came on today and doesn't turn off even after cycling the ignition. I'll be headed for the dealership for warranty inspection/repair but was wondering if anyone has experienced an SRS warning light and what was found to be the problem?

If any warranty work on the engine is required, I'll be removing the JB4 as a precautionary measure before dropping it off at the dealership.
Too late. They already have your file flagged.

I'm not concerned.
I play I pay. I won't defraud the dealer by denying my mods. on warentee claims. I also don't cheat on my taxes.

Ok Dudley Do-right! I'll bet you don't cheat playing solitaire either. I have a CPA do my taxes anyway.
No way could I do my taxes. ? Dudley Do-right? I'm not Canadian. That's the other guy. ?
I cheat on my diet occasionally. Last I heard that's not a felony. Granted if I got to 600 lbs I could get SSDI, but that's life threatening being that big. Hurts your 1/4 mile times too.

Evidently changing out the passenger seat SRS control unit/sensor didn't permanently solve my problem with the SRS warning light. It's back again so it must be something other than that control unit/sensor. This time, at my insistence, Infiniti is sending a flatbed to transport my car to the Infiniti dealership for repair and then trucking it back to my house. I told them I wasn't driving a car with the SRS system disabled and they agreed to tow it. In addition, when the dealership filled my gas tank as compensation for my first visit, whoever filled it evidently slammed the fuel lid hard enough to break the fuel opener lock and rod. So that assembly has to be replaced as well.

A royal pain in the a$$ but at least I don't have to endure another 10-hour driving experience getting my car to the dealership, picking up a loaner to drive home, then drive back again to pick up my car and drive home again.
I do my own taxes and yes I fudge. I have investments, rental properties, and sometimes a second W-2 from side consulting work. But I would never let anyone do my taxes but me.
In for Avedis' announcement of a new ride as he is headed down a rabbit hole trying to get resolution to this issue. Something is gonna go wrong with the flat bed ride...the driver is going to have to pick up a second car before he gets back and the Q will be towed behind on the stinger with no dolly. Good luck, man.

I do my own taxes, but no fudging happens...things aren't complicated enough to have that happen.
What a PITA, but at least they will pick it up and deliver it when it's done.

The gas door sounds like they forced it open. I looked at mine and it looks very hard to break the rod closing it, but maybe something happened so it would not unlock so they may have helped it? Regardless it's BS they broke it. Kinda destroys faith in them, unless a not technician flunkie did it.
Most likely, they have a nearby gas station that they send all their cars to for fuel. I didn't see any gas pumps around the dealership so it was probably the meth head pump jockey that slammed the fuel door shut and broke it. If you look under the rubber flex sleeve, you'll see a rather thin plastic rod that looks breakable to me. Don't confuse the fuel opener rod and lock with the fuel lid lock actuator. That's has a rather substantial rod with a notch in it that is moved by a solenoid.
I've bad-mouthed Beaverton Infiniti's sales people in the past and rightly so but I have to say that the service department is trying their best to take care of me. After I talked to the service advisor, there was a flatbed tow truck here within 90 minutes (coming from 80 miles away) to transport my car to their dealership. While on the way, the tow truck driver let me know when he was ten minutes out. I walked outside just as he pulled up and he took pictures of each side of the car before loading it.

When the car arrived at the dealership, the service advisor texted me and gave me a link to the repair order for my review. When the car is repaired, they will send it back on flatbed. Other than being without my car for however many days it will take for them to fix the problem plus the 4th, it's been a rather pleasant experience. I just hope they can figure out why the stupid SRS is borked and finally fix the root cause.
If it’s anything like the Nissan side for airbag related stuff.. it’s literally a list of items to replace. Seat harness, sensor, air bag control unit, etc. You can do an active test after but doesn’t guarantee there isn’t an intermittent issue with something. Sucks that you live so far away from the dealership. One of these days Nissan/Infiniti will be like Ford or GM where you can take it to either Nissan or Infiniti for repairs.

Btw the dealer doesn’t mind the towing.. they just send the bill to Infiniti. Gas is on them though.. customer relations....

I not only own an Infiniti... I’m faced with the same nonsense working for Nissan :)
Just received a text from the service advisor. They are replacing the passenger seat cushion since the sensor is incorporated into the cushion and it is on order. From what he just said, it would seem that they only replaced the control unit previously. I thought the control unit and sensor were one piece. Whatever. They had to order a fuel filler lock and rod assembly also.

No clue yet as to when I'll get the car back.
Good thing you're retired with no place to go.

We have another car if I need to go anywhere but it sounds like it will be delivered back here on Friday if there aren't any issues.

I got nothing to do and all day to do it.

I have all day to do it and I still get nothing done.
So I get a call from the service advisor yesterday that my car has been repaired and tested to make sure the SRS is working properly. They evidently had to replace the seat frame as the weight sensor is incorporated into it. I asked him at what weight does the passenger seat sensor activate the air bag and he told me about 60 pounds. He even went out and tested it again after our conversation and verified it to be fixed. I asked about transporting my car back to my house, thinking they would take care of that but he said for me to call the Infiniti Roadside Assistance number and arrange for it myself. Ok, I thought, it went fine the first time so no big deal.

I called the number and gave the person all the pertinent information about the car (color, license plate number, last 8 numbers of the VIN) but when it came to telling them where the car was and where it was to be delivered, the person became confused. They couldn't understand why I was having the car transported from the dealership to my house. "Why aren't you picking the car up yourself?" they asked. I explained that I am 2 1/2 hours driving time from the dealership and was told it would be transported back to me with no problem. They told me that wasn't done and that I'd need to give them my credit card number so they could charge me $386 for transporting the car. I told them I wasn't paying for it and would call Beaverton Infiniti to work it out.

The service advisor said he'd talk to the service manager about it as he couldn't get Infiniti Roadside Service to budge either. He assured me that the car would be delivered on Friday but someone higher up on the food chain needed to work this out. I would imagine the dealership could end up eating the bill if they can't convince Infiniti Roadside Assistance to do this.

I'll find out Friday morning what is to happen and hopefully the car will be delivered in the afternoon. I knew this was going too smoothly to last.
