SRS Warning Light

My SRS warning light came on today and doesn't turn off even after cycling the ignition. I'll be headed for the dealership for warranty inspection/repair but was wondering if anyone has experienced an SRS warning light and what was found to be the problem?

Good point! ?
Yes, the fuel filler door was fixed.
Avadis53, great service, I hear the advertisement, here all the time specially the dealership downtown, we will pick your car up and bring it back to you, not happening. That sucks.
Car came back this afternoon. SRS is back to normal and the passenger seat airbag activates with my wife sitting in the car. Fuel filler lock and rod was replaced and working. I'm happy.

Hey Avedis! I’m having the same issue. Did that solve your problem? Any update?

Thanks in advance!

I stated in post #84 that everything is back to normal. They replaced the passenger seat cushion since the passenger load sensor is incorporated into the cushion and it was what failed. They replaced the passenger seat load module first that is located under the seat but that didn't solve the problem.

Thank you bud! I saw your post, just wanted to see if it came back on or not. I have the same problem as you. They won’t jump straight into changing the cushion sensor, they said that they have to replace the module sensor under the seat first. If it still turns on, then they’ll order the cushion sensor. Let’s see what happens... Will keep you guys posted.

Thanks for sharing. You had a different code than Avedis and I. I didn’t know it happens on the driver side as well. Was the seatbelt control unit the one under the seat? Or entire seat cushion?

Thanks!

That's the standard repair procedure but I'll bet you a donut that it's the cushion sensor.
So @Avedis53 is a Super Mod now??? When did that happen? Congrats my friend!

It took a little longer to process because I was still negotiating my signing bonus.

Yeah, I recently asked for a raise myself. I told them I should be making at least double what I am making now.
You only asked for double? They quadrupled what they paying me before.

So how do I get into the action, I'm I too far east to get a raise.:)
So just for documentation for the forum, they finally changed the passenger seat metal frame and cushion sensors involved. They then transferred my leather seat cover to the new frame. Looked a little stretched but it’s ok, I can condition it and make it look new. I’ll keep you all posted if the light comes on. If you don’t hear from me, it’s all good!!
I'll bet your problem was solved when they changed the sensors.

Interesting. I don't think I would've accepted having the leather cover transferred over. I've done that work myself in the past and I would not trust it to have been done well by the dealer.
