Taking corners and braking into corners

Hi there,

I'm not sure if there are any people who tried their Q50's in corners. I drove M35h (hybrid) & M37 (non-hybrid) for some time and I was always surprised how bad M35h performed taking corners or braking into corners. It simply felt unstable and it was not pleasant, sometimes felt little dangerous. Most likely it was because of the weight - M35h was heavier because of the battery and it seems weight was not distributed properly. Now I'm planning to order Q50S Hybrid and I have some doubts about stability taking corners. Does anyone of you tried it and can tell me their impressions ? Is battery affecting driving experience ?

BTW. I really envy all of you the possibility to touch and feel new Q50!!! Here in Europe (Poland in my case) we need to wait until October this year, though we can already pre-order it. Not mentioning much higher prices here in Europe, MSRP for Q50S Hybrid AWD with equivalent to your Deluxe and Navigation Packages is $83765 !!! In your case it is only $54550- it's unfair :)

Yes, please, anyone with a Q50 Hybrid S currently, write up some comments on how it handles the twisties.
here you doubter, please read this review and see if you can find anything good to comment on, the best review so far : http://www.infinitiq50.org/forum/2014-infiniti-q50-reviews/4658-we-drove-q50.html
Well, without the Active Trace Control, the added weight of the M35h definitely would've made things a little heavy while cornering.

One thing to keep in mind is that the Q50S H AWD is a very different animal with a different kind of weight distribution, and different steering and engine response system.

Your concerns are valid, but on the other hand, not so much.
The Hybrid Sport handles fantastic in the corners, just like the Non-Hybrid. Engine would have nothing to do with how the car handles in the corner. The weight difference is negligible.

"Nothing"?

I disagree. It's definitely a part of the equation. Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but the power delivery out of the engine can help dictate how the vehicle responds in coordination with the steering input and the effort by the rear wheels.
ok, maybe not nothing, but I can't see any significant difference in cornering with the Q50 Hybrid and Q50 non-hybrid.

I have always heard that car prices are ridiculous in Singapore. The government really wants to keep the number of cars at a minimum, so they impose huge taxes on them.

If it is really true, then it would be great news ! Thanks for the info !

Yes, I know it sounds crazy, but in Poland you need to add few taxes to the base price of the car and I think it is also true for other countries in the European Union. So first you need to add excise duty rate which for cars with engine of capacity above 2000 cm3 is 18,6 % of taxable base and for the other cars - it is 3,1% taxable base. There is also value added tax (VAT) which is 23% of taxable base price of the car (which includes previously mentioned excise duty rate, so it is somehow tax of the tax). And besides that, in case of cars imported from outside the EU (like Japan) you need to include 10% customs duty rate. It makes me almost cry we have to pay so many taxes here, grrrr.
czien dobri!!!!!
Dzien Dobry, I guess :)
