I just chatted with an Infiniti rep after posting my displeasure on their facebook page. Please, every owner on this site needs to go to Infiniti's facebook page and post a comment about how this car doesn't have the apps it should have at launch and how other much less expensive cars (Toyota Corrola, Chevy trucks, Ford Focus, etc.) have had things like Pandora for 2 years now.
If you do this, they will private message you. We need to let them know that this is not up to snuff for a car that cost us this much. I've had my car for 6 months now. It's only a 3 year lease. If I end up going half the lease without all of the advertised features then I doubt I'll go with Infiniti again in the future since the longer this goes on the more I feel ripped off. If Infiniti really wanted to own up to their failure to launch this car ready, they should give us a reduction in our payment for each month of the delay. In the grand scheme of things that would cost them a lot less then losing future customers.

yea..part of me wants to do that, but the other part doesn't want them to rush the product out. I hope that they finish the apps and tune it perfectly with inTouch system tweaks so it works. I don't mind waiting a little longer if that's what i'm waiting for.

I've already got a $54K unfinished product in my garage that was rushed to production :D

Granted, i don't know if fine tuning is the reason for delay or just poor management and cost saving.

I'd like the apps, but I'm more concerned with my car actually working right. They have had it for a week now with this most recent visit, with issues big and small, including the car periodically and randomly deciding to not go straight. Good times.

Like just changing direction as your driving on its own??? WTF Has the dealer addressed this?

Again, you should completely disregard the cost/price of the car. It's irrelevant to the specific situation.
Although it does set expectations. You would naturally expect a Q50 to have better ICE than a Toyota Corolla at half the price. Luxury brands set expectations period, otherwise we'd all drive Fords. ;)

I halfway agree. Doesn't matter if you paid $50 or $50,000 for your car, anyone who pays for something should get 100% of their product, not 95%. It's bad marketing practice on Infiniti's part to advertise something they've yet to deliver.

Absolutely not. Infiniti InTouch is way more advanced than anything I've seen in the competition. I don't mind driving beta in a car model this new. I can still count on one hand the number of Q50s I've seen. Plus, I hear Apple hasn't exactly been easy to work with. The phone apps are going to come out. Chill.

Just talked to Infiniti through Facebook and they informed me I do not have the latest version of Intouch and advised me to go to my local infiniti dealership and have it updated.

I have version 2.3.7.0646

I was at the dealership on Monday. No app update is available. I specifically asked for Pandora / intouch app.

The only update they got for me was some 1.9 update. I didn't notice any difference.

My car goes straight so obviously user error. (seems to be an excuse used all the time on this message board).

Or, if your car doesn't work in cold weather, Move!

That's extremely ironic because as I remember it, when Ford released MyFord/MyLincoln Touch for the first time in the Ford and Lincoln lineups, there were quite a few issues with their software. Even you have brought up mentioning before how there's always a high risk dealing with new technology and software in a vehicle, especially in a brand new vehicle as well.

I know what you're saying but that's a brutally simplified analogy of what the issue here is and I know you understood the point I was getting across.

It's a relative situation. We all know that price and expectations do not always go hand in hand--and I've said it before, since forever, people have been randomly squeezing complaints out of cars and they are willing to associate any reason they can to the price that they paid for the car (because they don't have any other information to back up their claim). Basically, I don't think those people buying cheaper cars would be any less satisfied if they were experiencing similar problems in general. Nor do I think people buying expensive and extravagant cars should instill very specific expectations onto a car until something goes wrong.

This is the point I'm trying to get across and I thought it was pretty clear that regardless of what the expectations are for the money that you spent, it shouldn't make you any less upset or satisfied as a consumer when you're not getting what's been advertised.

And again, even if you want to use the $54k or whatever arbitrary cost people want to throw at the car, that price isn't inherent to the price you paid specifically for those advertised apps in the car. I wish I could be more clear on this but people are so used to associating with price paid when that's not really what the issue is.

Why don't you just play it off your phone?
If it did work on InTouch it would still be using your phones data connection.
I know it's a terrible inconvenience to have to play it off your phone and all...

One would have thought you would have turned in you Q50 lease by now because of this. *shrugs*

It was just a question about Pandora. You really going to throw a fit over a simple question I asked the service rep?

Seems like a lot of people are still waiting to see when the Apps will become available. They said Fall 2013. It's now spring 2014. So I thought I asked. No need to cry about it. lol

Rohardi -

Yes. It will randomly pull right or left while driving, most noticeably on the highway. This isn't drifting or alignment. It is pulling out of the lane. Happens with or without driver aids on, although active lane control was generally off because the rocking and bouncing made it unusable.

They have had the car for a week after Infinti send someone in to assess it and replaced lots of stuff. They found some codes, issues with the radar system, bad grounds, etc. I should be getting it back tomorrow. Fingers crossed that it is fixed, as this has far and away been the worst new car experience I have had--and I have owned a fair number of cars. When it works, I love the car. Unfortunately, that is too infrequently.

As an aside, I never cease to be amused by the apologists here. This car has a lot of issues. That it is a new model with new tech is not an excuse for that. And the promised apps are way overdue, frustrating and unacceptable in and of itself, made worse by the complete lack of information.

Given the continued issues with the tech in the car, I am not overly surprised by the delay and suspect it is because it would further add to InTouch instability. That also doesn't make it right.

The engineer they sent to try to figure out my car said of InTouch that it is a "slow" processor and sometimes you just have to wait for it. Hmmm.... Maybe they shouldn't have used so a slow processor in a system heralded to do so much?

I have a Ford Edge now with MFT and even after 2 years it still is a terrible system. It has somewhat stabilized but it has definitely fallen behind the pack. The interface seems bland and boring.

This is not to make light of those who have cars with DAS or other such problems; Infiniti had better get them fixed, and fast, before its reputation is permanently ruined. Though I have not had those problems, I have a road trip coming up. The main thought in my head is that the car will be outside during both day and night, and I'm hoping that I don't get stuck somewhere. However, as far as the In Touch problems are concerned, I am SO glad that I bought the car to DRIVE, and am not concerned with Pandora, Bluetooth, Sirius, Twitter, Facebook, texting, etc., etc., etc., etc.:)
