Tesla Screen Installed

So I was looking at a video by SquareWheels Automotive, about the tesla screen he installed. It wasn't the typical Pheonix mk3 but one called Aucar mk5.

I was going to order that one as he gave a good review but they are overseas and shipping times were long. So I saw that on that same video he had one from Amazon linked in the description. Literally ordered the last one available and turned out good.

Install wasn't too bad, the worst part was feeding usb cables to the passenger glovebox, which I had to take off. Screen is really responsive compared to what the video I saw showed.

Nice!
Does it support Android Auto?
That looks great! Def on my list of things to do.

Here is the link. And I'm not sure about android auto, still messing around with it but I just put my phone as a hotspot and use the screen for music and everything else. But if I download the app then maybe.

Does it support all around camera view? From want I've gathered, the aftermarket hasn't figured out how to support that yet. At least, not very well.

Yes it does, here are some pics as I can't upload a vid.

And just to inform you, those pics were taking while the car was parked, meaning I pressed the camera button and it worked like oem. I saw another post about the aucar and pheonix which both have issues with this apparently. I guess I lucked out

Thanks for taking the time for posting the pics. It's hard to keep track of which design doesn't work or if it works, the button on the console doesn't work or only shows one view.
Works and cycles through views like oem
well its pretty easy to see why its out of stock then. seems its about the only version that actually seems to be a true replacement.

Yeah but I also see no reviews and I might be the first one or maybe they just had one and everyone was skeptical about it.
I wonder if there is any modding capability. Not a fan of the stock interface. Would love to be able to write custom interfaces that are a little more sleek and OEM-like.
Yup I'm trying to mess around with it and customize it but no luck so far and with no instructions except install, I will have to improvise

I'm a software developer and I have been tackling this from a different direction. I am hijacking the stock displays, but this interests me. Are there any instructions for installing apps? I'm assuming it supports video apps and aftermarket apps like EcuTek. Google Play? Also, is there a web browser/file manager? Would be interested to see if you can get the ADB bridge running from settings and sideload apps.

It's pretty much an android tablet installed in your car with custom software for the oem features. But sadly it only comes with install instructions and nothing else. Everything works great software wise, just trying to customize it to my liking as I seen with other "Tesla" units.

Interesting. Wonder if I should drop my current project and go for this. It would be extremely easy to build a custom "launcher", but might be harder to see how they interact with/use OEM features like climate/reverse camera/InTouch.

I would personally rather make an interface that either looks like InTouch (close to stock) or close to Tesla's because it's really great UI design.

According to the Link to the actual unit yes Android Auto and Carplay are usable.

From what I saw in the settings, it apparently does support it but I haven't connected my phone to find out. Also it only supports it wired from what I can tell.

I've been mostly happy with my Unavi upper screen and it still retains my CD slot (a must for me).
