I picked up my car after being in the dealer for nearly 1 month (Boy oh boy did I miss it). The car was in the shop for for the InTouch screen blacking out every so often, see my post here: http://www.infinitiq50.org/forum/electronics-audio-lighting/18969-black-screen-death-3.html.

Apparently, the problem my car was having isn't the sporadic blackness many people are noticing, but rather a continuous blackness that would happen as soon as the car turned on and all the apps loaded (the screen went black) and if you pressed something it turned on saying still loading. Ultimately, both screens were replaced (shocked at the sticker price for each $3k for the upper and $800 for the lower. Upper cost nearly 3.5 times more because apparently, it has a lot of control modules behind it and there was a glitch somewhere that would cause the lower screen to go blank, the way I see it was having brain issues). I am hopeful that the slowness and sporadic black screen of death on the lower screen might be caused by the upper screen some how. Then again, who knows...

Now, both screens have been replaced and the latest Intouch ITGen5... was applied. I have to say that InTouch screen is extremely responsive and pretty fast as well. Prior to the problem I had the latest version as well .0646, which I still do.

Aside from all of the InTouch challenges, my control modules for DAST were changed as well and re-calibrated. I have to say, it is definitely a lot more sensitive than before (or maybe I was in a 13 G37 loaner for too long). I cannot recall if the steering was as sensitive prior to all the problems I was having. Even at Standard/Standard, it is very sensitive. A 1 degree steering system turn can be felt in the car.

However, the biggest change I've noticed is that the car is hungry to go, like an untamed bull... I mean even on standard mode, it feels like it just wants to go with a gentle touch of the gas, if only the highway was empty and it wasn't snowy.... (again, maybe because I was in the 13 G37 loaner for too long)

All-in-all pretty satisfied, the lack of InTouch apps is pathetic and a whole other issue. Also, what's odd is when the .0646 release was applied it removed FB and Google Search for a lot of people. Apparently even though I have the latest update, I see those apps under my App Manager Settings. And the latest patch update ITGEN5... hasn't screwed up my Sirius XM which has happened to a lot of people. For all I know, I might have been given a new SiriusXM device ID since they swapped them out and I might have another 3 free months...

This might be due to the fact that the battery was unplugged during the replacement of the screen or the DAS module and the ECU reset back to normal. I believe the car learns the way you drive and adjusts the throttle based on driving habits. I used to reset mine on the TL once a month and it would feel so much more powerful after resetting the ECU. Maybe someone else could chime in on this but I believe that's why it feels hungry to go. :)

I think you might be right on this. When I got mine back after the DAS update, I felt my Q50S hybrid take off a lots faster than before. After 3 days of driving, now it felt similar to before. The reason is because I tend to driving more in EV mode to save gas and the ECU probably adjusted the timing to my driving habit.

Just got the DAS re-calibrated and latest (very recent) InTouch update yesterday.

DAS: Does feel more sensitive but it isn't just that, it seems to respond a bit different in all facets of handling. I kind of like it so far but haven't tried different modes just yet. It feels more responsive in standard for sure and maybe even ore refined? I'm not sure how to describe it but it isn't just coming from regular steering back to DAS (I'm familiar with that effect).

InTouch: It solved my random iPod (within iPhone)not being detected errors and also has finally fixed the shuffle bug for me (even though prior updates were supposed to address that). The most noticeable thing about he update is that InTouch is MUCH more responsive, as are steering wheel controls (again, something a previous update was supposed to address).

Both of these are the recently listed voluntary campaigns.

Yeah. I felt the same. I can definitely felt the different. The different is not much, but enough to kind of notice it. I do like it more than before the update.

Yes definitely. At first I had a hard time adjusting so I took local route home instead of highway. Now entering highway and making corners is amazing. Btw road feel also increased

DAS did feel different initially but I'm used to the post update feel now. Didn't have problems before or after the update with feel (did have the cold weather freeze ups though).

In-touch does seem more responsive once it loads. I do notice the steering wheel volume changes more quickly post update however there is still a lag from when I press the buttons to when it shows on the screen. I can live with that compromise since I can hear when the volume is loud enough or low enough.

Dang! That is a lot of money.
I keep hearing extended warranties get pitched now because of all the electronics in cars.
I guess it does make sense after all.

It almost sounds like your car is more in sport mode.
The Hybrid really likes to sling shot you off the line in sport mode.

See if how it is in a week or two.
As was posted, maybe it's just the ECU and Transmission module re-learning.

DAS overall at least for me it's sensitive.
I got used to it.
I'm having the opposite problem now.
It takes me a minute now to get adjusted to driving a normal hydraulic powered steering car.
Now, I'm not used to the slow ratio you get with traditional steering and it's just not as responsive.

Indeed it does, if anything concerns me long term and the need to get extended warranty.

Has anyone with the DAS recal/update tried the Lane Departure Control? Does it behave differently after the update? What I am interested in hearing is whether the DAS update holds the Q50 in the lane better/same/worse.

I had been turning off Lane Departure off for so long that I don't remember about it. I might give it a try and report back.
I doubt it help much because the technology used is not really that good.

I like the LDC. It allows me to take my hands off the wheel at times to get something to drink, or just plain relax for a few seconds. Hopefully, it will still be the same after the update this coming Wednesday.

Yup I tried it this morning after having my rim fixed and it.worked pretty well. I really didnt notice any big difference than what it was before. The active trace control works a lot better and is on point now.

did the DAS ever lock up again in cold weather after you got it fixed. I want to pull the trigger this week on a new Q50 (my g37 lease is up), but I'm leery about the safety of DAS.

It's been fine for me.. I think at this point, they gotten around to all of the issues it's been having i.e. lockups while freezing.. It still has other issues i.e. slowness of Intouch though it's gotten a lot faster with the latest release. Not sure how others feel..
