I live in NYC and was on hillside. I have 35% tints all around. Cop was standing at a gas station and waiting for ppl to stop at the red light and he came over to me and gave me a $98 ticket. My tint guy is giving me a receipt saying I got it taken off lol. When i was leaving, he stopped another guy at a light.

fyi: you will need to take the car to NYPD station for a cop to verify the tint was taken off, tint guys cert may not be enough.

Huh? How can u plead not guilty if @ the moment the ticket was given, u had tints on your Q50 that was seen by the cop! Only scenario I would see pleading not guilty is feasible is if your tint was in regulation so I am confused!

Also, from my experience, as cvipgo said, I would have to go to some kind of police station or something that could write off my ticket once they have seen the corrected violation!

Here in Vegas an Officer has to verify tint removal prior to getting the citation dropped.

in Vancouver, you're not allowed to have any tint on the front windows, i've got 28% all around (except windshield) I've yet to have been busted yet

I've had 5% tints all around excluding windshield on my Maxima, G37, and now my q50. In Florida I believe the legal limit for the front is 28% and 15% for the rear. 70% is ridiculous.

That must be new, I remember a decade or so ago when I had tints put on my car in NY when I lived there, they allowed 50/35..

This is in my area where I live. They're coming down hard at the end of the month for tint tickets. I'm still contemplating whether I should get mine tinted or not. I was thinking of going with a lighter tint but then it looks like a waste of time since you can still see through lighter tints.

I have 35% all around on my Q, live in Long Island and drive to work in Whitestone everyday, cops haven't bothered me yet but I'm sure the day will come. I just open the sunroof shade at night to let the little bit of extra light in, especially when it's time for them to meet their quotas.

There is not really a guilty or no guilty. It's a fix it ticket. You either pay the fine. Or fix the tint (remove it) and then they don't make you pay the fine.

haha. Idk why but my ticket isn't showing up in the system online.. Its been 4 days and I can't find the ticket online to schedule a date for the fix it ticket. Anyone know what to do

There should be a contact info on the ticket - call that ph number

From personal experience, the parking or driving violation tickets are usually posted online within 7 days.
