if I don't get the Nav package what does the top screen do besides show that ugly low res clock? Are the apps we are waiting for going to run on that screen? Is there anything cool that screen does without nav?

You can make it display another low res clock, or a couple of other things. Buy it with Navi.

It is really not worth it to skimp on the navigation package. Without navigation, the top screen is wasted.

If you have NAV, you can do everything from the steering wheel and Nav screen.
Or just about everything.
Like you can cover up your bottom screen and be ok.

It's kind of to bad you have to have NAV to do this.

The one thing i'm wondering that I don't think anyone has answere is what happens on a non NAV when you push down on your steering wheel volume button.
On a NAV car it brings up a menu in the NAV you can go through and do just about anything.
But it kind of sounds like on a non NAV you just don't get that.

You can usemedia and bluetooth capabilities from your steering. Aswell as change btwn media/usb devices, swirch btwn phones if you carry more then one device like i do... You have access to textmsgs and addressbook. You can also program favorites which can be chosen from your address book. But they are dependent on the phone and change if you change phones.

That sounds like it actually can do some useful things. Thank you. I've had two g37s without the nav and just don't need it. Are any of the new apps going to work from the top screen?

With the two screens out now. If you dont get the Nav just go and get the G37! The vehicle will hold gears on turns if you have the navigation. It will know what roads you are driving according to the GPS maps on the NAVIGATION!
