I recently spoke to my dealer here in Washington State (Seattle). Evidently, we're going to be one of the first, if not the first locale in the country to get their orders. It's a port city closer to Japan than any other so that makes sense.

It's also possible, since I preordered pretty early, that mine might be one of the first from that initial order.

Even with all of that, I was told they haven't started building it yet, but there was an expected date of delivery around mid-late- August. (I was hoping for much sooner). He said it takes on average about 75 days from the day they start building to delivery. So he estimated that it must be ready to be built any day now. I guess I can keep checking back on that.

So this might be the tip of the spear, so to speak, as far as when everyone can expect their orders (in the US, at least). Has anyone else heard otherwise from their dealers?

They have already started production... The first cars rolled off the line nearly 2 weeks ago other dealerships are saying mid-July to first couple weeks in August YMMV ...

They did say that right now some cars are being produced for demo purposes and are expected to be "scrapped" when done (i.e. never purchased by the general public). So I'm not sure who to believe.

I'll talk to the sales manager on Wednesday and see if he knows more about what's going on.

I visited my dealer here in Texas today & I received multiple confirmations (personally & via non-automated email) that my preorder would be processed in the morning, and I would receive a confirmation once they can confirm my car spec is accepted. The sales consultant even showed me their dealership's official order list with all of the Q50s they'll receive in the first delivery, which they believe to be August 15th. I know the Sports will be extremely low in supply in the first production batch; they're only getting 4 (FOUR!!) Sports that will be available on a first-come first-serve basis--3 obsidian blacks & 1 moonlight white or Hagane Blue (can't remember which color she mentioned). Non-sports, I think she mentioned 13 total in initial FC/FS inventory. All the more reason to PREORDER if you know exactly what build you want & don't want the introductory pricing to expire! I was told to expect to take delivery in mid-August. :D

This is common practice among the automakers. There can be a fairly large number of pre-production cars built to ensure that the assembly line is running smoothly without significant quality control errors. These first cars are then often provided to journalists and/or used as internal company vehicles.

I have been told by my dealer that they are getting 55 Q50s in late July. My preorder is supposed to be part of this group.

Ok, an update on this. Apparently, I did not speak to the correct person at the dealership. When I talked to the sales manager, he said they must have figured the delivery date based on if I ordered the car today. Since I pre-ordered in May, my car was already built, and should be arriving around 1st week of August. He said Infiniti is trying to get these out even earlier, so there's a chance they might arrive in late July. They also expect to have a demo model in the showroom by the end of this month which seems consistent with what others are reporting.

we are being Told late July to early August.

We are getting 140 Q50's in and Infinti is pushing these on us..
My manager spoke with the DOM and he basically said that if he wants us to take and sell all these Q50's then there better be support on the leases when they come out.
With the lease residuals and MF they have now on the Q50 we are going to be sitting on a few so they basically told him not to worry the will be support from the manufacture. With our store 75% of the cars we sell are leases.
I hope there is because my lease is up in October so by then there better be a lease deal on the Q50 or I will be leasing a M37xS..

My sentiments exactly! I'd love to see some early lease support to get them on the road. I would love a pull ahead and $2k in loyalty support. That would get my payment almost exactly where I want it. Fingers crossed but nothing has been released to support any of these ideas - guess I'll keep the ol' fingers crossed!

I am working with a dealer in NJ who believes the first cars will arrive during the third week in July as has been mentioned.

He thinks there may be some slippage.

There are 2 shipments per month.

I have a order in for a moonlight on stone Hybrid AWD Sport with the $6400 tech plus nav package.

He expects the car will be on the second shipment (targeted for early August delivery) as mine was put in the system after the first orders were placed.

He looked at the initial group of cars being sent over and there are 2 that match my order.

Next week they may be able to find out where these cars are headed and then redirect one to get me the car earlier.
