On mine same as OP it was the top row. You can't see it in the pictures you posted.

Middle one is ground and far left is 12v. Far right is empty. It's only three wires in that row.
Here is a clearer picture. I have a black wire in the middle, and a gray one on the left(in picture)

Yeah mine is completely different. The row with one orange wire on yours that's where I have 2 more wires that I used as ground & power.

However I think all mirrors have 12v to them. Just a matter of finding which one and should be fairly easy with a volt meter.

Are tou supposed to put the black and red mirror tap wires inside the holes with the black and gray wires already in it, or the empty ones ontop??

Can anyone confirm which mirrortap model is needed for a car with Nav but no Tech package? Its a little confusing on which mirror is which on the website.

Thanks

Regarding the direct wire kits that tap into the mirror: Can anyone provide any insight as to the correct wire gauge?

Some seem to have used 0.40, others 0.50.

Perhaps both work?

The ebay knockoffs are 0.75

I purchased the authentic MirrorTap and started with the .50 version. They didnt fit in my Q50 with Deluxe & Nav packages. I returned them for the .40 version, and it fit perfectly.

YMMV

I recently got a Q50S (went from G37xS) and needed to move my Escort Passport Max that used mirror tap in my old G. The cables didn't fit even after I tried every angle. So per Mirror Tap CS suggestion, I filed them down just a bit, using a Dremel, now they fit perfectly. Hopefully this helps those of you that have difficulty with the cables going in.

I have a 2015 Q50S with tech and nav, so I had to use the black and grey cables on the mirror molex connector.

I did what cbb77 did in this post:
2014 Infiniti Q50 Forum - View Single Post - Valentine 1 hardwired

Basically, I plugged an "Add-A-Circuit" fuse holder into the "Power Socket" fuse port and then I ran power and ground behind the dash, behind the "A Pillar" cover, and above the headliner. My new power lead exits the headliner with the mirror harness. I was able to complete this install without removing any interior panels. I used a bicycle reflector bracket to mount my detector to the mirror.

Unfortunately my detector is from 1998 and it reports very frequent and strong K-Band alerts. My car is a Q50s with Nav/Tech/Touring and I'm assuming these alerts are coming from my blind spot monitor and accident avoidance systems. The K-Band alerts may also be coming from modern traffic monitoring equipment and other car's avoidance systems on the road as well. Unfortunately, the frequent K-Band alerts render the detector fairly useless.

Are modern detectors any better? I'm reading that the recent Escort and V1 models are supposed to filter this stuff out.

Would you please measure the taps inserted in the mirror plug. I want to use it with dashcam and going to make DIY cable with 12v -> 5v convertor. So I need the thickness and width of insertions.

Taking them out of the tap is extremely difficult. But as mentioned, the .5mm (24AWG) was too thick, so they gave me a .4mm (26 AWG).

Hey guys! I moved my V1 out of my '14 and into my '15. Even less room to work with on this with the camera and extra stuff up behind there.

I need some help on where to put in the Mirror Tap. I don't see green like the OP stated.

I figure out how to finally get the harness out of the mirror. Made it 100x easier. FYI there is no green... I think the OP meant grey.

All set back up and working!!

I have a 2017 Q50 AWD with NAV.. However it is a lease are these mirror taps easy to take out?
Yes, extremely easy to take out. The hard wire just pulls out of the harness when you want to completely remove the mirrortap.

You do know that you can get the firmware updated in the V1. If you can prove that are the owner of the V1, they will update it to the newest model for a nominal charge. I bought my original V1 in 1994, and it has been updated twice to match the new threats.

Yes, all of the collision avoidance radars do set it off now. They do not set it off after the update.
