Voice Command for iPod to play Song or Track?

1893 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  MikeElmendorf
I thought there was such a thing. There is a command for USB to play a specific song/track. There are commands for the iPod to play specific artists, albums and playlists. But, for the life of me, I can't find the command to play a specific track.

Any guidance?

Thanks.

Hmm, I was playing with this in the loaner Q I have.

Just say 'ipod play song Jumpin Jack Flash' or whatever you are looking for.

I did notice that there were a number of songs that the voice recognition would not recognize no matter what so maybe try a few other songs with more recognizable names.

Hope that was what you were looking for,

Try page 10-12 in the in-touch manual and you'll see the command. (You don't need to go through all of the voice feedback, just say the command as above and don't wait for the voice prompts to make it quicker).
That command seems to be missing for me in the list. It is there for USB, but not iPod.

Just click the hands-free steering wheel button twice, then say it. You don't have to find it in the menus
You should also be able to change the voice recognition to reduce feedback aka the annoying lady prompting you once you learn the system and get used to it. Saves you from having to hit the voice button twice.

First thing I did in all of my Infinitis. It's in the settings menu.

Will have to look in to it. Thanks for the tip.
I think the label is something like "minimize voice feedback" or something like that.

Pg8-26 in touch manual.
Ok, the Ipod Play Song Command is definitely NOT working for me. When I try it, it says "Processing" on the screen and then asks me to try again.

I tried deleting the Ipod from voice recognition and reconnecting it. It prompted me again. I'm wondering if maybe I need to do that when I am going on a long drive so it has time to set up the voice recognition for the songs? I have more than 3,000 songs on the iPod.

For those who have it working, how many songs do you have?

The Play Artist and Play Playlist commands are working just fine.
