What sort of dashcam needs? lol

My last car, VW CC R-Line, had a dash camera. When a woman broadsided me going 40mph while I was at a complete stop, the camera caught everything. The impact, her car, plate, even the woman herself. Long story short, my lawyer loves me. You better believe that same dashcam is hard wired into my Q50S right now.

Wow that's a good price for an action cam! What method did you use to mount it? For my gopro, I used a bicycle mount I got for about $6 bucks. I just replaced the bolts and mounted behind the rear view mirror. It's nice and not obstructive.
Of course the easiest way is to use the mount with 3M tape.

Funny.....I bought a mirror mount separately. But.....I didn't look at the packaged accessories enough. It already had all of the necessary pieces for my installation.


It is a bike mount. Then the other accessories have different parts that went together just fine. The mirror mount I bought was nice. I just thought the camera sat a little lower than I wanted. This sits a little higher, but not completely behind the mirror. This camera came with a waterproof case that is just like a GoPro. So, it can take GoPro accessories... but, has to run off the battery. I wanted to mount this with being plugged in.


I tapped into the power going to the mirror..... The black is ground and the gray is the ignition... Middle and right if looking at the plug after unplugging it from the mirror. I had to splice into the wiring. I put in a hardwire to micro USB cable. I rain it up at the plastic junctions box at the headliner. There is a 12V to 5V transformer in the cable. I ran it down the same plastic the mirror cable runs down. It is very clean.


I used the case that comes with the system that allows it to work with tripod type screw. I can also pop that out and take it with me. The camera has a dash cam mode. It turns on and automatically records when it starts. It can keep 3, 5, 10 minutes clips and can record for a set time when the power is cut.


I haven't grabbed the card out to see how it looks. It looks good from the screen.... although I set it to turn off after just a minute or so.

Rain over the weekend was terrible here in LA (well good for eco, bad for car)

Had to wash her up, got some new products from the chemical guys.

resurrected from the dead.

30k service done.

Front diff. rear diff. transfer case. Fluids changed.

rotors surfaced, new pads, brake fluid change.

installed hotchkins front and rear anti sway bars.

installed new belt and tensioner AND they had to align the belt. At 17k when belt frayed, they had not aligned.

dealer was unwilling to put 5w30 to not void warranty. I had been running 5w30 since I bought the car.

I will have to do OCI at 3333.33

installed factory splash guards.

Infiniti wouldn't do the front and rear diff, last time I went to the Nissan dealership near me to do it $230, how much did they charge you.

"Genuine 'Nissan Motor Oil 0W-20 SN' is recommended. If the above motor oil is not available, use an equivalent motor oil that matches the above grade and viscosity."

They had a few cases of warranty denied because they had put 5w30.

They ended up footing the bill...at least that is what my service advisor said.

I will change it every 3333 miles.

I have a 7 year unlimited mile warranty.

Front & rear diff drain plugs when the driveline fluids were changed around 15k miles. Transfer case plug was very clean, iirc.

If you look carefully in the Owner's Manual, that 'Outside Temp Range' diagram (JVT0428X) is under the 2.0L section. It is not present under the VR30DDTT section.

Now what would it cost at an Infiniti dealership?? LOL!

They wouldn't do it, as they said under normal driving conditions not recommended, I know part 2 says muddy condition every two years, Nissan does recommend changing it, the oil change at Infiniti is $129.00 compared to Nissan, the last time I changed it was $59.00 for 0-20.
