On the hybrid it tells you that the car is ready to drive even if the engine is off.

You do not want to turn it off. It tell you the hybrid is ready to drive.

To the best of my knowledge it is not something you can deactive...at least it was not on the M35h. It should go off when the car is in motion but it is there to remind the driver the car is active and could move at any point.

aggie and baity got it right. It's there to tell you that the car is ready to be driven. It was put there because people get confused in a hybrid when the engine isn't running as to whether the car is on or not.
