SO I've had two G37s and both had the memory seats/ key fob link and now I find out I have to buy the touring package with the DAS for $3100?? That's pretty weak to spend $45,000 and not get memory seats for my wife and I! Whats next the power window package?!

Yeah memory seats should be standard equipment by now. I've seen this strategy though when a car is first released where the packages have standard equipment scattered among other packages to get you to buy a full loaded version to get everything you want, with stuff you don't want. The M was the same way where if you wanted certain things that are usually standard, they were scattered in different packages in the 2011 model and now the packages are aligned differently in the 2013 model.

Yep, made no sense to me. DAS should be included in the tech package since half the crap in the tech package requires DAS.

I guess they wanted to spread the cost. Who wants to pay 6k for a tech package.

I would assume as the newer versions of the Q50 come out, packages will change, just as maddsick said.

Yea, I was surprised to see that.

Being a Salesmen at I N F I N I T I I can tell you the reason they that Infiniti does that is to break the packages down and allow customers to purchase a Q50 with some things on it with just a Premium Trim and No packages. IT does make sense. Because a Premium Q50 is not the same as a G37 with Premium package.

Wow, really? This seems a little frivolous. This is nothing really new in this segment.

I mean, even in the G37 you still had to pay $2,500 for the Premium package to get goodies like memory seating and power telescoping/tilt steering wheel.
Infiniti always has been offering their cars with 4 packages:
1) Premium
2) Sports- available with only Premium
3) Tech
4) Nav

We are obviously going to find something to NOT be happy about.

I didn't get the Deluxe Touring package, knowing exactly what was, and wasn't in it. Yes, I would have liked a couple things in that package. However, as an educated consumer, I made my choices. I'm not going to now complain about it just because Infiniti didn't match the paint to the color of my eyes (a beautiful hazel). Infiniti was plain about their offerings.

Folks are losing sight of the big picture.

Yea I'm not bitter I love Infiniti that's why I'm here and going on my third lease. My g37s had memory seats and now the same model q50s doesn't. That's all.
But it's not really the same model at all, really. The Q50 is a much different car than the G37 is many ways but I can see where you could've looked at it that way.

Yes, and we still have to pay that amount for the premium package in the Q50. Difference is, they decided to move some stuff around so they can make an all new package.

Leather was also standard. It isnt now.

Holy Cow! I just realized why I wanted Hagane. My eyes are Hagane Blue! Of course on some days, they do resemble the hue of my Venetian Ruby car!

This I could understand if the things in the package are closely related. But memory seats and electric steering? Pretty different.

One of the things I liked about Japanese cars is that the packages seemed to make SOME sense. Honda/Acura are king, and I bet it sells a lot of cars for them (most have 2 maybe 3 option packages?)

What Infiniti is doing now (and maybe they will undo it, wouldnt surprise me) reminds me of a Mustang my dad looked at....to get cruise control we needed to get a leather wrapped parking brake handle.

If they really wanted to break the packages out for consumers to get what they wanted, why put expensive DAS with memory seats/wheel?
