The new Infiniti Q50 will come with either a 328-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine or 354 horsepower 3.5-liter hybrid-electric engine.

I know what you mean. I have finally stopped associating Toyota Prius with the word hybrid. Now I am more open to the potential.

The four cylinder turbo will be an interesting addition to the Infiniti Q50. They are planning to make a diesel version as well but only to be released in Germany.

Mercedes and Nissan already partnered up in the pasted and still are currently, the article below just confirms that both brands will be sharing engines, starting with our Q50's.

Seems like we're getting an engine from the Mercedes CLA and/or Mercedes C-Class:

After its world premiere at the North American International Auto Show in January, the all-new Infiniti Q50 that replaces the G series sedan, will head to Switzerland and the Geneva Motor Show in March for its European debut.

The big news at the Swiss show will be the presentation of the European engine range for the Q50, which will be the first Infiniti model to feature new powertrains sourced from Daimler and its Mercedes-Benz brand.

“The Infiniti Q50 is a world-class sports saloon with an engine line-up that will clearly demonstrate its intentions to be a major player within the European premium market,” said Bernard Loire, Vice President, Infiniti Africa, Middle East and Europe (AMIE).

Infiniti won't reveal details on the engines yet, but we do know from previous announcements that the Q50 will use force-fed four-cylinder petrol and diesel powerplants related to those used in the Mercedes C-Class and possibly the E-Class as well.

From 2014, the four-cylinder gasoline units will also be offered in North America as Nissan has already started work on a new engine manufacturing facility in Decherd, Tennessee, to build Mercedes-Benz four-cylinder engines for use in both Infiniti and Mercedes-Benz models.

At launch, the North American Q50 will be available with two powertrains, a 3.7-liter V6 with 328hp and a hybrid version connecting a 3.5-liter V6 to an electric motor for a combined system output of 360hp.
