Clear Bra (a.k.a. 3M VentureShield Paint Protection Film) urethane film was applied to the front end, the mirrors, half way up the hood, both rocker panels, and the top of the rear bumper (top flat surface immediately underneath the trunk lid). The installer, an expert with almost a decade of experience with film application, said he had the most challenging experience yet in his career as he applied the single front piece which is cut to cover most of the front end. He did a masterful job. As a result of the hours spent to achieve perfection the price for clear bra application for the Q50 in this Boston shop just went up a wee tad.
The only seam visible during extremely close examination is the seam across the front hood which is only visible when viewing it at a 90 degree angle (I.e., stand perpendicular to the car and you can make out e seam on the front hood).
We stuck with legal tint and we didn't opt for the clear material for the front windshield. Given the Li battery and that it's performance is heat labile, I may pursue it in the future.
Next in line: considering tinting the rear brake lamps, considering Vossen CV1s, and very interested in engine performance enhancement. But not quite yet! 300 miles on the clock...
