Took my baby to the dyno this morning, had to see what she has going on. I went to AntSpec in Fountain Valley, CA and had 3 pulls done. *Sidenote: the shop is legit. Great group of guys working there. Real chill, engaging, and knowledgeable. Super clean and pretty big.* I am currently stock except for a JB4 and the Helmholtz muffler delete. These pulls were done on a Mustang Dyno, 4th gear, traction control off, running straight 91 octane. Temp was 61*F and humidity was about 27% (according to AccuWeather). Elevation we'll just call at sea level.
Now to the numbers...
- first run: JB4 map 0 (no boost) - 392 hp/407 tq
- second run: JB4 map 1 (+4psi) - 400 hp/438 tq
- third run: JB4 map 1 (+4 psi) - 383 hp/431 tq
One thing to note, I hit some sort of boost/fuel/temp cutoff or something during the third run. I took logs so I'm gonna send them to Burger and see if they can tell what happened. There were no noises or pops or anything like that, just a temporary loss of power. No warning lights or codes. Didn't happen again after that and car runs great as usual.
Scans of the dyno sheets are attached. First graph is runs one and two (1st run is solid, 2nd run is dashed). Second graph is runs two and three (2nd run is solid, 3rd run is dashed). JB4 log of my second run: AFR at WOT ran between 10.8 and 11.7, max boost pushed was 17.5 psi at 5300 rpms.
Overall I'd say that I'm pretty pleased. I don't care so much about the peak numbers, but I love being able to quantify the difference that the JB4 makes. Peak torque went up a bit, peak horsepower not so much, but the area under the curve for both cannot be denied. No doubt in my mind that the JB4 is the best bang for your buck power mod available. Now if I could just get my hands on 93+ octane...
