Getting Rid of a CEL

I looked briefly through the forum, but I read that people took it to the dealership.

I had to take off the AEM intakes because they threw a CEL last night while driving. I took them off this morning and disconnected the battery but the light is still on. Car drives fine. But I'm assuming that method doesn't work on this car.

Anyway to get rid of the engine light without taking it to the dealership?

Buy an OBD2 code reader/scanner from Amazon or Ebay. Use it to erase the code.

If the underlying issue has been corrected, often the check engine light will eventually go out by itself. I don't know how long that may take. On some cars it will take 20 driving cycles.

Or, as suggested get an OBDII scanner. Often but not always you can reset the light.
