Rear emblem placement – help!

Debadged a while back...left the rear infiniti emblem intact for a while but realized how crappy it looked chrome on my blacked out Q.

Had my car guy take it off to be painted Obsidian Black... soon as I left, I remembered that I wanted to measure it for placement — ugh!!!!!

Then last week, I see a g37 coupe with a horribly crooked misaligned emblem... PLEASE don't let that be me!!!

Would anyone be willing to measure their Q for proper placement of the infiniti emblem? I know this may be time consuming but I would be eternally grateful & you'd be my savior :)

7/8" from the top of the upper chrome finisher and just about centered between the I and N. Zoom in on this picture for reference if needed.

Hope that helps.

Tony, thanks for taking the time to help me out....appreciate it beyond words! I do trust that my guy wouldn't let me leave the shop with a wonky emblem, for his own reputation, but I'm completely neurotic so thanks for putting me at ease!

Possible it may not even go back on, so promise you wont hate me. Started to like the bare look..Gotta see the obsidian on obsidian in person first. When I first started messing with the badges I did what you have now actually..very short lived, after 27 people asked why I left the infiniti chrome (to match the front!!) & if I forgot to spray it lol. Ripped off everything but the chrome, but still haven't been 100% satisfied with my "ass"..just can't put my finger on it....

http://www.tiikoni.com/tis/view/?id=a1e2e26 Please don't judge my filthy car & iphone pics..never claimed to be a photog lol

Your car is gorgeous, was checking out your latest work & it looks awesome. Impressive skill you have! Props for keeping the obsidian showroom condition...it's a daily losing battle for me & this winter ruined me. Curious what you did with your trunk trim? I am not a huge fan of plastidip in general bc it looks cheap to me. But had no choice—couldn't vinyl without having cutouts of the letters (ick) & I considered buying an extra chrome strip and painting it until I learned the price of that strip...holy crap! Not wild about having mine matte...yours looks much better...painted?

Mine is simple dip, 4 coats black and 3 coats glossifier. Came out very smooth to me. Trick is to soak dip cans in hot water first and put on nice even coats to ensure it settles to a smooth finish. No light mists of spray that can get textured. I may redo this in the long run, but the dip has held up well and looks nice enough to not be a focus of mine to change it.

Also, I like the pic you have with no emblem. I'd say if painting it black, why not go without it for a while and see if you like it better before it is remounted. You'd hardly notice it with it painted black.

Thanks for the tip tony! Emblem is still not on...apparently it was lost at the shop...they were trying to put on an emblem that they thought was mine, but it wouldn't lay flush because it was from a G lol. New one was ordered so we shall see

The arch finisher has been sprayed with black chrome paint from duplicolor, then black gloss plasti dip, then finally I removed it, shaved the Infiniti logo, then covered in a 3M Black Gloss vinyl. Here is a picture.
