Android Auto upgrade

I'm 100% happy with the 85% that I am happy with. lol. Yup. I think I paid closer to $400-$500 and got free installation since they are relatively local. They even threw in a free dash cam but I can't use it with my little Lithium battery as it drains the battery when parked for too long. Hopefully it wouldn't drain a full size battery.
What issues do you have with it?
Chinese version has few major issues - sound quality, phone integration, external low quality mic, questionable wireless android auto.

I guess my biggest complaint is I listen to radio and CDs more than I do 'Aux' so I have to rely on the little external speaker for Waze alerts. I can't hear the darn thing! Also, a few little annoying things like if you get too close to an object where your sonar would alert you, it kicks you out of Android Auto and you have to click the Map button to go back.
Does it kicks out only when you close to obstacle or after reverse camera as well?
How is sound quality which goes via ipod interface?
I am not happy with oem Bluetooth audio quality. I hope this android module will give better quality.

No, after Reverse (--> Drive), it will go back to AA.
Sound quality is fine if you are using Aux for phone source.
I do miss the lower info bar of the upper screen.
Sorry, didn't get what you mean by phone connected to aux.
I mean sound quality played on your phone via wireless Carplay or AA, then unavi transfers sound via ipod interface (ipod source should be selected). Unavi has its own DAC (digital analog converter) which could impact sound quality if it has cheap DAC.

If you want to have the Android Auto sound (music, waze alerts, etc.) come out your car speakers, you put the car's input to Aux. My problem is I mostly listen to CDs or car radio so I don't select Aux. Then, the waze alerts come out the little external speaker which I can't hear.
Ok, so looks like you have older version of Unavi. Below is screenshot, they use Ipod port now.

Finally I installed module from Unavi. Currently for 2015+ version they have different solution for sound integration. There is no aux or ipod cable in the set. There is no external speaker. Music and phone calls go via oem Bluetooth but still controlled and shown in AA in my case.
Works perfect if you listen music from phone.
So far everything work fine, quite happy with the module.
