I have a 2020 q50, out of warranty and I was quoted $640 for rear brake pads and rotor replacement at the dealership. I previously went to a mechanic that I usually go to and was charged around $300, he said it was Infiniti brakes but I’m not sure of that. Does anyone know the average rate for this job? I seen that I can purchase the actual Infiniti brakes on the website for $300 and have someone install it for me. That is also an option because I have a neighbor who said he can do it but I didn’t get a price yet from him.

I used to do brakes on all my cars for a lot cheaper. But that is the going rate in the past few years, dealers, Firestone, and pep boys are all in the $600 range for rotors and pads per axle. Can’t do them anymore and don’t trust small shops or shade tree mechanics , so Iwould rather pay for a well known chain or the dealer.
