Hey Sid,

As you know, I'm getting the 2018 RS400 which comes with a front camera. Which grille would work for me? I'm looking for the all black sport grille along with the illuminated emblem and how much would it cost? I looked at the chart you posted on the previous page, but it's a little confusing.

So was it determined that the radiant emblem should physically fit the 2015 Q50? The power will just need to be spliced into another wire, as there is no connector there in the 2015?

This should work no problem on any Q50 model regardless of front camera or not. The part number for the grille emblem and emblem base is the same from 2014-2018. Means anything associated with the emblem shouldn’t affect other trim options.

This is to correct myself.

The illuminated emblem for the 2018 Q50's is NOT compatible with the 2014-2017 Q50's. Wiring could always be figured out, but, the issue is purely fitment. It will not fit the grilles. I physically tried it.

Does the light interfere with front camera view? What did you tap into? Is there a link to the install. It seemed easy enough to remove emblem on my g37, havent looked into this yet but had a loaner 2018 with the led emblem and would love this on my 2015 Hybrid sport.

It won't work. Unfortunately, it physically won't fit.

At the moment, the only photos I have are the stock ones available at www.parts.infinitiusa.com. None with installation.

The general local clientele we have doesn't do much customization to their vehicles and tend to keep them stock.

I have some pics, this is the black grille with the radiant emblem. Also a back shot of the chrome trunk finisher wrapped in gloss black with the letters cut out. The window pillars and chrome on the handles are wrapped too.

Can you post a close up of the rear? How were you able to have the letters cut out like that? Every wrap place I Went to said they can't do that because it will cause bubbling and peeling. They wouldn't even wrap that piece because of the lettering.

Here’s a picture from before I got the car washed, sorry it’s dirty but you get a closer look at the trim.

Some shops also told me they can’t do it, so I just asked around until I found a few that have experience with precise wraps like this and they did it without any issues.

That looks great, how much they charge you for that? Did you go around the doors too? Only thing left to wrap on mine is that piece and the front grille.

It’s $25/piece at the shop I went to. I did around the doors and the chrome strips on the door handles as well. It really pulls the black together nicely without going overboard on the all black look. Next I’ll have the headlight housings painted on the inside to complete the look.

Eh...valid point, but, seeing how MB has done the illuminated emblem for a while, maybe their forums may highlight whether it's a problem or not.

I don't think they'd try just because it's a big hassle in addition to the emblem not being lit when parked. Thieves usually case vehicles that are parked, not while in motion, etc.

There’s an updated chart. I’ll have to review it again.

No need to purchase the vehicle pre-equipped with it. All the 2018’s are supposed to have a connector preinstalled as the illuminated grille emblem can simply be added.

For Shaun’s grille, he had to drill because of the route he and I discussed. If memory serves, he bought his car with the illuminated emblem and the way they offer these grilles, there was no need to buy the grille he wanted with the illuminated emblem preinstalled. I pulled up the illuminated emblem install instructions and drilling was required. So, to save some considerable money, he bought the non-illuminated emblem grille he wanted and simply transferred over his emblem.

F2310-6HH0C is a grille and surround that comes with a radiant emblem installed in it, while F2310-6HH1C is the same grille with no emblem (or does it have the standard emblem?). Also, I have an '18 that does not have the radiant emblem. Can I simply buy F2890-6HA1A and install to my grille following the instructions for installing a radiant emblem?

No worries. Sounds like you got it just fine.

Basically, the sport grille is available all black, including he surround, without the emblem or with.

Then, there just the emblem available by itself. Yes, you can install that on your current 2018. They all come pre-wired for it.

Now, if you by the emblem now and then decide later on the black sport grille, you’ll spend more buying the items separately.

The grilled without the illuminated emblem will require you swapping over the original emblem on your vehicle.
