"open bonnet" error light - unable to get rid of it

The auto electrician ran a lot of checks, or rather his computer did, and examined the actuators that fire the pop-up bonnet, they’re by the bonnet hinges. The actuators hadn’t fired, fortunately. He cleared all the codes and it looks like there was an issue with a sensor from when I’d had a minor bump. Haseebch’s advice matches my experience, so an OBD scanner could be the best way forward. Though how you find a reliable one I don’t know. The ones on EBay for under £10 look a bit dubious to me.

Good luck

Does anyone know of a garage between Bristol and Birmingham (UK) that has experience of fixing this type of issue with the pop up bonnet warning light? I’ve just been told it’s a £800 part that needs replacing.
