I found a place to swap my orange reflectors for a pretty good price. Not interested in painting the inside, all the silver and chrome in the housing match my car nicely. It's just the orange that bothers the **** out of me.

There is one problem though! The little light behind the reflector IS ORANGE (Amber)... It's not as simple as swapping it for a white LED. These bulbs are on a circuit board. So my choices are to leave them alone and have an amber LED behind my clear reflector, or disable that light so it never comes on...

I have not seen any pics of what it looks like to have the amber bulb shining through the clear lens. Someone please post a pic!

With my amateur photoshopping skills, this is what my car will look like after this mod :D

I'm never able to see the pictures you post on these forums, but I'm super interested in getting rid of the amber reflectors and want to see how your photoshop skills turned out

That is really strange, here it is attached, let me know if you can see it that way. Anyone else unable to see my photos??

Buy your clear reflectors from https://dkmoulds.net/product/infiniti-q50-clear-headlight-reflectors/ use promo code "loyalty" for 10% off right now.

Then you just have to find someone to install them for you. I wouldn't risk trying it myself.

I'm looking for some photos with the lights on. So I can see what the amber LED looks like shining through the clear reflector.

How tough is it to remove the headlight cover to replace these? I can't seem to find any instructions for removing the headlight cover either.

Will this require a trip to my local auto shop?

bump. Has anyone done it themselves?

Headlight retro's are pretty straightforward. I've done a few for people a little to gun shy to try it themselves. You just bake them in your oven for 20 mins at 200 doing one headlight at a time. The butyl glue softens and then you can slowly pry them apart. You do your work and then pop the halves for 5 mins to resoften the butyl. Then they go back together no problem with no leaks!

I did a similar mod on a Kia Optima. I whited-out the reflector and added an eyebrow LED. After a year a went back and re-retro'd them and converted the white LED's to switchbacks.
