Very nice Hunter. It nice to see the battery still assisting even at such high speed.
I don't know if you saw earlier, but @misiektoja (I can actually spell that now without looking it up on the forum. Haha.) had posted acceleration runs and his electrical assistance would stop at around 130 mph, but he was doing runs starting from a stop. We were all wondering if starting from a higher speed electrical assistance would continue to accelerate the car. Sure enough! I imagine starting from a stop the battery probably starts to get a little hot which is why the car starts wanting to cool things down around 130.

Nice, it was sure recharging at a high rate once you let up on the throttle also.

I notice that. One time I did an experiment where I intentionally tried to drain the battery to see exactly how the car would behave. It basically just stops assisting, but still won't go into a recharge state until you let off the accelerator. Once I did let off though the needle swung hard to the left so it was trying to slurp up every last electron it could get basically. Pretty neat design.

I really love this car.

I know of a completely stock Q50 AWD that has hit 155 several times......I also heard they do not feel very stable at that speed. Probably a mix of the tires and the small stature of the vehicle. As opposed to a Dodge Challenger, which at that speed, feels like your on rails.

Be careful at those speeds. Better make sure you shift your vision from a few car lengths ahead to about a half mile ahead. Never a bad idea to check your tires before high speed runs too. And, of course, make sure you are doing your "testing" in safe places!

I did notice a bit of "hunting" at high speeds. It's not as bad at normal highway speeds, but noticeable. I think I'm going to have the alignment looked at.

So far 140mph on a two lane back road.. I am very please with the acceleration. It doesn't handle as well as my G sedan (many mods) but it's not bad.
When I grow up, I want to be just like you:).

Car went past 140 a few times when I had it. Brakes could not handled the speed though. They got glazed pretty bad.

Yeah, I did combo engine braking.

Vehicle dynamics change very noticeably above 120 mph. Those of you proceeding into higher speeds should practice extreme caution. Almost all accidents at that speed that result in in a loss of control are fatal.

A quick blip to 150mph is an exciting endeavour. Every second that you stay there increases your chances of a mechanical failure significantly, Since the car was not designed to cruise at that speed, the tires will exhibit very different characteristics than when you are traveling at normal highways speeds.

If you choose to do it and endanger yourself, please do not endanger others.

I have explored the upper speed limit myself. The Q50S gasser suspension feels very much at home at the higher speeds, than the much stiffer ride I notice at legal speeds.

I was alone on the tollway and there is only one entrance ramp. There is total visibility.

That's weird. I have done plenty of 140mph stops in my G Sedan with no indication of over heating. I figured the Akibono's would be even better. Well the wife is going out of town in the G this weekend, we'll see.
